Chapter 467 - Down The Rabbit Hole to Wonderland

"Vorpal Pierce!" Alice screamed as she leapt right towards Alice! Her Disposition was totally different! Before she'd seemed like a typical girl but now…Wait.

Her eyes. They had a glimmer to them as the pupils were wildly changing shape, bags below her eyes deeply black but also had a scratchiness to them like one would have in moments of extreme lust, exertion, Wiriness, or having an insane high.

Noirs eyes locked on hers before dipping to the side, a look of concern. He raised his leg and slammed it into the back of her head gently enough to just knock her to the ground into unconsciousness

"Please don't hurt me!" Koru scampered back….'shit…Its finally time isn't it?' "You're pathetic you know that." Dezzi said as they put a hand on their hip.

"Please…I–, don't kill me…! Barbary Promised he wouldn't hurt me" He begged with wild and pathetic eyes

"The hell are you talking about? We expected you to try and kill us." Noir cocked a brow. "Wh-Why would we fight against Barbary?! He's paying me, and he brought Alice in!"

"Wait, you think we're with Babary?" Jeanne asked

"Yo-You're not?" Koru asked Causing the Red Sashes to look at one another. "Do you not know what your own Enemy looks like?"

"Barbary only told us to Raise the Undead and Corrupt them and leave it to him to take care of his 'Target'. Me and Alice spend most of our times out here in the Factory."

"I don't even know where Alice sleeps. She's never asleep when I'm awake…" Jeanne interrupts him with a mocking hand making speaking gestures. "Blah blah blah. Just turn all the zombies off and we won't have to hurt you."

"Look you guys might be scaring the shit out of me but why should I help you?" Koru asked, arm raised up in front of his face

"Why would you want to stick with Barbary anyway?" Jeanne asked, pulling her bolt back and allowing it to snap forward in a hard metallic sound, causing Koru to flinch "He pays me duh! I dont give a shit what he does or needs me to do, I just want the cash!"

Dezzi stepped forward and glared at the Pirate. Their eyes flickering slightly with electrical power as they leaned closer…

Koru sweat. "Ah fuck off fine! Fine!" He snapped his fingers and suddenly a burst of energy washed out of it. All across the island Undead and the Grateful Dead felt their souls be released, their bodies turning to bone and falling to the ground.

Miura burst into the grand hall and announced her information "Lord barbary! The In Chained! They've…They've all fallen sir!"

"What?! Are you telling me that useless piece of Shit Kuro has fallen?!" He sat up from his chain and looked down at the woman

"Tell me there is at least some good news…" He barked the order in a low voice

"Yes. The Red Sash Pirates are quickly coming this way. They've made it past Jabberwock and another three are at the Factory…"

"Don't send any reinforcements…The Final battle is quickly coming upon us…" He picked up his helmet and fitted it onto his head.

"There is one other thing…Lord. It's close enough to show you…"

"So wait…You'll pay me if I help you?" Koru looked up at the Chef "You'll get paid…In a way." He threateningly extended his foot to the throat of the man as he had a Cigarette in his mouth

"Yeah! Sure!" He shouted. "Better you guys than Barbary I suppose." He gave a weak smile

Dezzi was now crouched down next to Alice, and was looking her over. Opening her eyes as Jeanne spoke "You could be pretty useful in the fight to come." Koru shook his head when dezzi's eyes widened

"Whats…Whats wrong with her?" They turned around as Alices eyes were still frantic and wild even while being unconscious

"Oh Alice…She uh…" Koru rubbed his head "She's uh…" He swallowed hard

"She's High." He said avoiding eye contact. That cowardice subsiding for a moment

"What?!" Dezzi gave a worried look "High on what?"

Another hard swallow "Glimmer." Those words caused their eyes to narrow. "The Halucinogene…."

"The Same thing used on Wringly…" Jeanne pursed her brow.

"Barbary got her addicted. She's high 24/7…Living in a wonderland most days. Shes rather lucid when she's high as well. But what she sees makes her malleable to do what Barbary wants….

Koru then Explained to them what happened to her. At least what he was able to piece together from what she'd explained to them

Her Real Name was Lydelle Alice. And used the Alias surname Alma. She was born on Dodgson Island. An Industrial Island that was plagued with poverty. Children working in factories, smog high over the air as royalty lived in grand buildings and a palace. Even their parliament wasn't distributed equally among the masses. It was only those with money who had it

Alice knew a man when she was younger. Louis was his name. He'd told her stories of the Grand Line around them. But it seemed nothing helped stave off her depression and sadness. She was a street rat. So never had a solid home. Even when Louis offered, she rejected him and never spoke to him again.

One day. She said a white rabbit found her. And she chased it, and it led her down a rabbit hole. Rabbit told her to drink. And the world around her transformed into something that was wondrous. Colorful

It was just like what louis had described to her in his stories! Cards that walked around on two legs. A white queen. And a man beyond size, like a giant that radiated words with so much power she couldn't help put obey…

She sowed puppets with the wave of her hands. Cleaning them from the dirt they were buried in, and Koru accessorized them with the prettiest clothes.

But in reality. The White Hare had been Ahre. The Book Keeper. He had slipped just enough glimmer into her drink to make her Hallucinate. And then he lead her to a ship. Where he then gave her a full dose of glimmer. Changing the way she saw the world

Deckards Knights became walking Cards, Barb became a snow white queen. Barbary a Giant of Reason and Recknoning

And every day, every hour. She reupped.

Keeping her blind as she resurrected the dead. Stories of a girl in a graveyard that was surrounded by corpses that followed her every command had reached Barbary's ears

She would've never come otherwise. If she'd known what was happening. She wouldn't be able to live with her self…

"Thats who Alice is…She said she had that knife since she came to 'Wonderland'. Hard Rock." Koru corrected

"I felt…Responsible for her…Even if I'm a coward. Everyone but me, Miura and Nekomia looked at her with strange contempt." He sat down Next to her. "Which is why I ask…If I can. Will you allow me to take her with me when I'm done? "

Jeanne didn't hesitate "Of Course…Leave her a note."

"I'll tell her to head for the coast. None of the Barbary Pirates won't bother her…"

It wasn't much longer after that, Alice was placed under a tree. Note in hand. "She'll be sober for the first time in years when she wakes up…I dread to think of what will go through her mind…"

He laughed nervously. That cowardly disposition coming back over him "Okay! So…Fight barbary yeah? I can do that…Totally totally totally…"

Barbary Stepped out on the balcony where he had been only a few hours before. His eyes looked down at a figure. "What's he been doing?"

The figure was none other than Masamune Kale. Now sitting on top of a Pile of Bones from countless In Chained. Jaeger in hand as he looked up to Barbary and smirked

"Just been sitting there. Waiting." Miura said, eyes shifting to Nekomia behind her. Barbary speaking snapped her back to attention "We won't keep him waiting much longer. And I don't think his allies will be either…"
