We walked for what felt like forever. My mind replayed so many possible outcomes. I had tried so hard to protect Chhaya and the pack, and now this had happened? After hours of searching, I let the others return. I needed to do this alone; I felt it in my soul, This task was meant for me.
I shifted into my wolf and raced forward, wanting to escape my feelings and the loss. My body was sweating, my heart was racing, and my mind connected with someone else. Saturn she is here, and I can sense it. I looked around, searching for her.
At this point, I only cared about finding Chhaya. But could Saturn know where she was?
As I sprinted through the dense woods, every instinct urged me forward, yet my heart was heavy with dread. The scent of pine mixed with the damp earth overtook my senses, but all I could think about was Chhaya.
My breaths came in painful gasps, trembling with anxiety and fear, until I stumbled into a small clearing. There, under sunlight filtered by the trees, lay Chhaya. The sight of her motionless form struck me like the first time I transformed into a wolf, painful and terrifying. My body felt hot, my senses out of control.
Her fur, once vibrant and alive, now lay still, a haunting reminder of how life can end. I felt failure creeping into my mind; I was supposed to keep her safe. The loss and panic hit me, ripping my soul in two. The realization that I would never again feel her playful nudge or see her eyes light up was a sharp pain in my chest.
" It was me, I did it," Saturn said as she walked forward and made herself known.
My mind went blank. I couldn't think or feel.
"Why?" I yelled, feeling that anger was the only emotion I had left.
"I was trying to calm her, and the spell went wrong."
"She's dead because of you!" My eyes began to well up with tears.
"I... I'm sorry," she stuttered.
"The bears will pay, and so will you."
"You know you feel this between us."
"You think I can even look at you after what you have done?"
I stood up, reached for her, and grabbed her by the neck. As I heard her choking and felt her grasping my hand, I couldn't do it. I couldn't hurt her, not with that look in her eyes.
I forcefully threw her to the ground. "Where are the bears?" I shouted.
"They went to look for help." She was still coughing and grabbing her throat.
"I will be back to kill them. Mark my words."
Picking up Chhaya's lifeless body, I made my way back to camp.
This means war. The bears and the witches will face the consequences for everything that's happend. For Chhaya's life. For Every single one of them will pay for their actions!
The end...
