The rapidly spinning golden spiral water shuriken flew through the air and struck Kommo-o's armored body with tremendous force.
The metallic collision immediately produced a sharp, ringing explosion that echoed across the battlefield.
Kommo-o, who was still under the effects of the "Outrage", struggled to push forward despite the impact. However, the golden spiral water shuriken's power proved too strong, forcing the Dragon-type Pokemon backward across the arena.
A long groove was carved into the battlefield floor as Kommo-o was pushed back.
"What kind of move is that? Is it unique to Greninja after its mega evolution?" The gym leaders watching from the sidelines were all surprised by what they witnessed.
It was the first time any of them had seen the technique that Greninja was displaying now.
The previous large spiral Aura Sphere at least had recognizable elements they could identify, but this current attack was completely different.
This wasn't a Water Shuriken either!
What made it even more impressive was the sheer power of this move.
It had successfully overpowered Kommo-o, who had received the stat boosts from "Clangorous Soulblaze" and was in the middle of an Outrage rampage!
Even a normal Elite-level Pokemon would find it difficult to accomplish such a feat, wouldn't it?
The attack continued to push Kommo-o backward until it was right in front of Alexis.
"Boom!" The sound rang out loudly across the arena.
The golden spiral water shuriken exploded in a brilliant display of power!
A thick cloud of steam and smoke immediately enveloped Kommo-o, obscuring it from view.
However, the steam was quickly blown away by Dragonite's "Tailwind" attack, clearing the battlefield once more.
When the water vapor and smoke finally dispersed, Alexis discovered that Chris hadn't taken the opportunity to launch a follow-up attack. Instead, what Chris held in his hands made Alexis's eyebrows twitch with concern.
Chris was holding a handful of colorful crystalline objects in his palm.
All of them were Z-Crystals!
"Arceus, where did he get so many Z-Crystals?" Alexis's eyes widened in disbelief.
Chris began pressing the crystals one by one onto his Z-Power Ring, giving commands as he attached each one.
"Tyranitar, use the Ground-type Z-Move, Tectonic Rage!"
"Garchomp, use the Dragon-type Z-Move, Devastating Drake!"
"Gardevoir, use the Fairy-type Z-Move, Twinkle Tackle!"
"Blaziken, use the Fire-type Z-Move, Inferno Overdrive!"
"Greninja, use Water Shuriken!"
"Welcome to the Z-Move showcase!" Chris declared with confidence.
"You had Kommo-o use its exclusive Z-Move along with Outrage, so it's only fair that I respond with Z-Moves of my own, right? It's just that I happen to have a few more than you do."
"Ty" Mega Tyranitar immediately spread its arms wide and roared powerfully. With the massive Pokemon as the center, the ground began to crack and shatter inch by inch, spreading outward like a spider web. A huge black hole materialized in Tyranitar's chest, creating a violent suction force that seemed capable of drawing everything on the entire battlefield into its depths.
However, Tyranitar didn't seem content to simply use it as a suction portal.
Instead, the Dark-type Pokemon grabbed the "black hole" with both hands, treating it like a projectile, and hurled it directly at Espeon without any hesitation!
The terrifying black hole continued to absorb everything around it as it flew through the air, moving at an extremely fast speed!
But since Alexis's Espeon served as his ace Pokemon and last line of defense, it naturally had impressive skills of its own.
The Psychic-type Pokemon used Future Sight to predict the incoming attack, then executed a perfect Teleport to dodge it!
Espeon successfully avoided the black hole attack.
However, the situation wasn't quite that simple.
The black hole had landed right next to Alexis. In order to prevent its trainer from being sucked into the dangerous vortex, Espeon gritted its teeth and used Teleport to transport its trainer to safety along with itself.
Meanwhile, Mega Garchomp burst up from underground, and emerging alongside it was a dark green dragon approximately ten meters in length. This massive construct was composed entirely of concentrated Dragon-type energy!
The energy dragon roared as it soared through the sky, its target clearly set on Dragonite!
Mega Gardevoir used Confusion to control her body and float gracefully through the air. When she raised her hand toward the sky, the entire battlefield was immediately filled with a magnificent pink glow, as if everyone had fallen into a pink-tinted dream.
In the next moment, a meteor shower began falling from the pink sky above.
At first glance, it might have looked like Gardevoir's usual "Moonblast" attack. That was correct – the Fairy-type Z-Move "Twinkle Tackle" that Mega Gardevoir was using was indeed based on Moonblast. However, instead of the usual small pink orbs the size of a fist, the sky was now filled with massive pink stars the size of millstones!
The attack featured much stronger power, many more projectiles, greater area coverage, and a longer duration than the standard move!
Mega Gardevoir had pushed her offensive capabilities to their absolute limit.
Blaziken had also entered the battle, having undergone mega evolution as well.
The Fire-type Pokemon activated its Z-Move, "Inferno Overdrive."
Immediately, a ball of molten magma appeared at its feet. With Mega Blaziken's incredible leg strength, it could easily leap to heights equivalent to a fifty-story building.
At that moment, it seemed to channel the spirits of legendary soccer players, moving with incredible grace and power as it prepared its attack. This wasn't just any ordinary fighting chicken – this was a master of combat!
The moment Blaziken kicked the magma ball, it disappeared from view entirely. Only a streamlined heat wave lingering in the air proved that the projectile had ever been there at all.
The result became apparent when a massive hole was punched through the wall behind Alexis.
It wasn't that Mega Blaziken had missed its target. The Pokemon it wanted to attack was hidden within that large hole – it was Mega Glalie!
"Boom!"
Explosions echoed across the battlefield one after another, creating a symphony of destruction.
Mega Glalie was immediately knocked out of its mega evolution state and had completely lost the ability to battle.
Dragonite managed to escape Mega Garchomp's "Devastating Drake" attack, but it was caught in the face by the "Twinkle Tackle" meteor shower that filled the entire arena.
Dragonite's evasive maneuvers proved to be in vain, and it too was knocked out of the battle.
Kommo-o couldn't continue its rampage either. Being weak to Fairy-type attacks, the pink meteors falling from the sky posed a fatal threat to the Dragon-type Pokemon. Combined with the golden water shuriken attack from the front, there was no path forward except defeat.
Following Mega Glalie and Dragonite, Kommo-o became the third Pokemon to fall.
Only Espeon and Dragapult remained standing.
Dragapult chose not to attempt another sneak attack this time.
Instead, it returned to its trainer's side, set up a "Protect" barrier, and worked together with Espeon's Light Screen to resist the massive pink stars falling from above!
"Is this the end?" Alexis's teeth were chattering as he watched Glalie, Dragonite, and his other Pokemon fall one by one. The strength gap between himself and Chris was becoming increasingly apparent, and victory seemed more and more out of reach.
"There's only one option left..." Alexis suddenly gritted his teeth with determination. "I'm sorry about this, Chris!"
Suddenly, the space beside Chris began to distort as a Psychic-type Pokemon opened a Teleport portal.
Chris immediately realized what was happening. In this final moment, Alexis had chosen to take a desperate risk and have Espeon make one last stand!
Mega Gardevoir turned her head and launched a "Psychic" attack, building up mental power and lashing out with tremendous force.
Espeon arrived as expected, but it had also brought Alexis and Dragapult along for the teleportation.
"I'm sorry!" Alexis shouted as he threw a heavy punch directly at Chris.
The two Pokemon flanking Alexis used their bodies to block Mega Gardevoir's Psychic attack, protecting their trainer so that Alexis's fist could connect with its target!
"Crack!"
