Looking out one of the many back windows in the mansion that Eric had given me, I couldn't help but sigh. The moon was stunning… completely full, with a majesty that made you just want to continue staring at it.
Ever so slowly, dark, black clouds drifted in front of the light, blocking sections of the moon, but not enough to obscure everything. It looked like something out of a horror movie, or the perfect moon when it was Halloween, and you could feel the shift in the air.
Taking in a deep breath, I froze. August had no right smelling like this. This was that scent that was normally reserved for a cold October night. You know the one… the cold, crisp air mixed with something burning… and the earth itself slowly decaying as it prepared for winter.
I could practically see the fall when I closed my eyes…
