The chimera came at them like a cannon shot, dragging its claws so hard they carved deep lines across the floor. Its whole body pulsed with blue light, each step shaking the ground.
Asher met it head-on.
The chimera swung its right claw down in a heavy vertical strike. Asher shifted to the left and caught the arm with both hands, redirecting it to the ground. The impact shattered the stone where he pushed it.
The chimera didn't stop. It twisted its torso and swung its other claw sideways.
Asher dropped to one knee and leaned back, the claw passing inches above his face.
The Knight rushed in from the chimera's blind side. It brought its sword down on the cracked plate on the chimera's back. The blade hit clean and drove the crack deeper. Blue light spilled out in a small burst.
The chimera roared in pain and spun its tail around like a whip.
