Arrival on the Floating Island
Half an hour later, Nako, Ruoruo, and Juzi led twenty female classmates to the lawn. Nako gave them permission to enter the Floating Island.
Suddenly, Zhou Shuyi and the others saw a blue light beam appear on the lawn. "Why is there an aura all of a sudden?" Zhou Shuyi asked, surprised.
Luo Xin pointed to the sky. "Look up!"
The students looked up to find a giant island floating in the sky. Today, the Floating Island spanned one million square meters and extended over the school lawn. Since the island was usually in a static, invisible state, the students couldn't see it until they were granted permission.
Nako gestured. "Don't just stand there, head for the blue aura."
This aura was one of twelve such circles on the Floating Island, each with a ten-meter radius and a twenty-meter diameter, allowing everyone to stand within it.
Whoosh!
Everyone was teleported to the island. Looking at the lush green lawn and breathing the fresh air, the girls were stunned.
"My God, is this where you live?" Zhou Shuyi exclaimed, pleasantly surprised.
Ruoruo said playfully, "Yes, we and the captain live in the villa, and there's a hot spring there."
"So cool! Can I take a hot spring too?" Zhou Shuyi asked, eagerly.
Realizing she might have said too much, Ruoruo quickly added, "You can't live there without Brother Su's permission. You can only live in the floating community. Let me tell you, the decorations in the floating community are super high-end—even better than those in Tomson Yipin!"
"Better than Tomson Yipin?" Zhou Shuyi gasped, incredulous.
The rest of the girls chattered, all equally excited.
Ruoruo pointed ahead. "See? That's the floating community."
"Wow, what a high-end community!" Wang Yumeng said happily.
Xiaoshen Shen laughed. "Hahaha, great, I love this place so much!"
Luo Xin pointed to the sky above the Floating Island and asked, "What's that blue shield above us?"
"This island is called the Floating Island, and that's the protective shield," Ruoruo explained. "Let me tell you, this protective shield is incredibly powerful. Even an atomic bomb can't get through it, and neither can monsters or zombies. You can have fun at night and get a good night's sleep here."
"If even an atomic bomb can't hit us, then we're invincible on this island!" Liu Yiling said excitedly.
Shu Nana piped up, "Oh my God, you guys live in such a nice place! Is this Floating Island privately owned by Yuto Saito?"
"This is Brother Su's ability; he's very strong," Ruoruo replied.
Zhou Shuyi teased, "Have you already become Yuto Saito's wife?"
Ruoruo smiled. "I wish! But not yet. We're just members of his team."
"Team?" Zhou Shuyi wondered. "I have fire abilities. Can I join the team?"
"If you want to join the team, you have to undergo a strict review," Ruoruo explained. "Whether you can join or not will be known later."
Nako interjected, "You all go to Building 2 of the floating community first. We'll talk about these things later."
"Okay," Zhou Shuyi said, not pressing the issue. They were already incredibly lucky to be on the Floating Island.
The group walked towards the floating community. Zhou Shuyi asked curiously, "The blue aura just sent us up, but why wasn't the military able to see it this morning when they came by?"
Nako replied, "You need permission to enter the Floating Island before you can come here. The Floating Island is invisible in its static state, so the military couldn't see it."
"So that's how it is! I wondered why it appeared out of thin air," Zhou Shuyi said, realizing the explanation answered her questions.
The girls arrived at Building 2. They all chose to live on the third floor. Zhou Shuyi, Luo Xin, Shu Nana, and Liu Yiling decided to share a unit, settling into apartment 2301.
"Oh, this is great! It's super cool!" Shu Nana cheered, jumping with excitement.
"Nana, stop jumping; you're making my eyes dizzy," Zhou Shuyi quipped.
Liu Yiling chuckled. "Maybe Yuto Saito likes Shu Nana's figure."
Hearing this, Shu Nana happily declared, "If I can live in the villa, I can often bring you delicious food!"
Zhou Shuyi bluntly retorted, "Come on, I've seen the others in Yuto Saito's team. That Ni Shuang and that blue-haired beauty are both top-tier in appearance. Hu Tuan'er and Mifen are also on the team. Do you really think you have an advantage over them?"
Shu Nana stubbornly said, "Sister Zhou, don't be so harsh! I have my own advantages, okay?"
Just then, Ruoruo walked in, carrying some fruit and rice.
"Thank you, Ruoruo," Zhou Shuyi said gratefully. "Did you just finish settling the others?"
"Yes, they're all living on this floor," Ruoruo confirmed. "I brought you some fruit and rice. If you're hungry, you can cook some rice or instant noodles." Ruoruo left them instant noodles, green vegetables, hot pot ingredients, and other items. Every unit had a refrigerator and cooking utensils, so they could prepare their own meals.
Ruoruo placed the items on the table. "I'll add all of you to a group chat. I'll notify everyone there if anything comes up. You should get settled today and have a good rest."
"Thank you, Ruoruo," the four girls said gratefully.
After Ruoruo left, the four girls chatted again. Shu Nana looked at the ingredients on the table and cheered, "Wow, there are sausages, meatballs, and frozen dumplings! God, Ruoruo is so kind to us!"
Luo Xin corrected her, "That's not right. You don't just have to thank Ruoruo, but Yuto Saito too. Ruoruo wouldn't have dared to give us these things without Yuto Saito's instructions."
Liu Yiling nodded. "That's right."
Shu Nana cheered again, "Yuto Saito is so good to us! Yuto Saito is my male god!"
Zhou Shuyi playfully said, "Shu Nana, you crazy woman, do you want to be Yuto Saito's girlfriend?"
Shu Nana smiled charmingly. "I wish, but Yuto Saito might not like me."
"Oh, you're quite self-aware," Zhou Shuyi smiled back.
Luo Xin clutched her stomach. "I'm so hungry. Let's cook some instant noodles first."
"Okay," Liu Yiling agreed. "Add some meatballs; life will be better."
The four girls were very happy; the Floating Island was beyond their wildest imagination.
Doubts About the Shelter
Meanwhile, Juzi was talking to Wang Yumeng.
"Yumeng, why didn't you follow the army to the shelter? Was there a reason?" Juzi asked.
Wang Yumeng replied, "I thought there were too many people going to the shelter. If even a few zombies got mixed in, tens of thousands of people would suffer. If they wanted to escape, they wouldn't be able to. Plus, you'd be controlled there. Going to the shelter, you can't tell who you'll meet."
Wang Yumeng said it tactfully, but she felt the shelter might not be safe. If there were criminals or gangsters inside, it could be even more dangerous.
Juzi made a mental note of Wang Yumeng's words, planning to report them to Yuto Saito later.
