"What… what do you want to talk about?"
Malfoy stammered and his voice was unsteady—he was somewhat afraid of Wade.
Wade pointed at the bloodstains on Malfoy's sleeve.
"This injury is just an ordinary classroom accident—things like this happen at Hogwarts every day. You wouldn't use this as an excuse to turn everything into a mess, would you?"
If anyone else had said this to him, Malfoy would have exaggerated his injury as much as possible. But Wade knew exactly what he had done to Crabbe before.
Back then, despite the fact that it was a near-fatal injury, Malfoy himself hadn't faced any particularly severe punishment—though he was still serving detention every day.
Compared to that incident, the wound on his arm was truly insignificant.
But Malfoy was unwilling to let the matter go so easily. He pressed his lips together tightly and his gray-blue eyes darkened with resentment.
"If I say no, are you going to expose that incident?" Malfoy asked in a low voice.
From the nearby hospital bed, Harry glanced over curiously, though he couldn't quite catch what they were saying.
A little further away, however, Ryan tilted his head in their direction.
"Of course not. After all, Mr. Malfoy has spent quite a fortune on you."
Wade smiled slightly and said in a soft voice:
"But I wouldn't mind letting everyone know that the heir of the Malfoy family is nothing but a useless coward—someone who can do nothing but call for his father and cries like a three-year-old girl over a minor injury."
"You—you wouldn't dare!" Malfoy's face turned pale with rage.
"Why wouldn't I? Am I not telling the truth?"
Wade pressed Malfoy's wand down onto his blanket and continued:
"You can have your school governor father pull some strings to force the school to expel Hagrid. You can even have the Ministry of Magic execute that dangerous beast. That's your right."
"But I can also make sure the entire world knows that Draco Malfoy is nothing but a coward—not a real man at all. I can make that label stick to you for life. Do you want to take that risk?"
Malfoy was completely stunned. His lips moved instinctively, as if he wanted to argue back, or maybe lash out, but in the end, no words came out.
His face turned even paler, bit by bit.
"Don't worry, I was only speaking hypothetically."
Wade patted him on the shoulder and said:
"Actually, what I wanted to tell you is—if you're willing to forgive Hagrid, he might take you to see a dragon. Maybe you could even touch it."
"You remember that dragon, right? The one that was kept at the Quidditch pitch for a while. It's still in the Forbidden Forest—Hagrid visits it often."
"Oh, but if you're not interested, that's fine too. I just thought, since your name means 'dragon,' you might be curious about real dragons… Actually, Hagrid has quite a good relationship with the centaurs and unicorns in the Forbidden Forest as well."
"As the professor of Care of Magical Creatures, Hagrid is actually quite competent. So when he makes an accidental mistake, we should give him a second chance, right?"
Malfoy remained silent. His hand, resting on the blanket, trembled slightly, but he didn't say a word.
Wade didn't push him for an immediate answer either. Instead, he turned to ask Harry about his injury.
"Actually, after applying the medicine, it doesn't really hurt anymore," Harry said with a grimace. "I just feel really sick to my stomach now… like I'm going to throw up."
"Don't," Wade warned. "What if Madam Pomfrey makes you drink another dose if you throw it up?"
"No way!"
Harry's face turned pale with fear. As he spoke, he quickly rubbed his chest, trying to swallow down the potion that still seemed to be stuck in his throat.
"Where are Hermione and the others?" Wade asked.
"It was almost time for class earlier, so Madam Pomfrey made everyone leave," Harry explained.
Just then, the hospital wing's door swung open again, and a red-haired head peeked in.
Ginny Weasley shyly glanced at Harry before lowering her gaze to the floor. "Professor Hagrid! Professor McGonagall is asking you to go to the Headmaster's office."
"W-what? Me? Right now?"
Hagrid had been chatting enthusiastically with the children, discussing how he could improve his future lessons. Hearing Ginny's words, he snapped back to reality and his voice trembled with unease.
"Yes."
Ginny replied quickly, sneaking another glance at Harry. She seemed to want to say something else but hesitated.
Hagrid stood up, and his head nearly touched the ceiling.
"If I get fired—" he looked around at the students and said sorrowfully, "I'll be sure to pass on your suggestions to the new professor."
Michael and the others didn't know how to comfort him.
Just as Hagrid was about to step out, Draco Malfoy suddenly spoke up from his hospital bed.
"Wait!"
Everyone turned to look at him. He hesitated for a moment before seeming to make up his mind.
"I'm going with you."
Ginny frowned. "Professor McGonagall only asked for Professor Hagrid."
"She's obviously calling him in because of our injuries. I was directly involved, so I have the right to be there!"
Malfoy lifted his chin arrogantly and shot her a proud look.
Then he turned his head and glared viciously at Wade.
"In that case, I'm going too!"
Harry frowned and immediately tried to get out of bed.
"No way!"
Madam Pomfrey suddenly appeared, as if she had been prepared for this exact situation. She swiftly pushed Harry back onto the bed.
"Your wound hasn't healed yet! Stop running around."
"But I have to tell Dumbledore the truth! If I don't go, Hagrid might get fired!" Harry shouted.
"N-no… Your health is more important…" Hagrid said, deeply moved. "I… As a professor, I really should take responsibility…"
"But—"
"Stay in bed! Do you think there's anything Dumbledore doesn't know?" Madam Pomfrey huffed. "Whatever you have to say, you can say it after you've recovered. Right now, don't even think about sneaking out under my watch!"
Harry struggled, but Madam Pomfrey was absolutely unwilling to budge.
Malfoy let out a cold laugh, cast a "Reparo" on his school robes, then put on his boots and got out of bed.
As he walked past Hagrid, he glanced at the wild-looking professor with unconcealed disdain.
But then he said, "I heard you're still keeping that dragon?"
Hagrid was momentarily stunned. "You mean Norberta? Oh, she's such a good girl, really! I've never seen a more adorable little thing… If her mother's not around, who's going to take care of her?"
Malfoy frowned. "…Her mother is in the Forbidden Forest too? Another dragon?"
Hagrid pulled out a handkerchief the size of a bedsheet, wiped his nose, and shook his head. "No… I'm her mother."
Malfoy's expression instantly became indescribable.
Watching them leave, Wade chuckled softly. He bid Harry farewell and headed off to prepare for his next class.
As he stepped outside, Ryan walked up beside him. "Wade, I didn't know you liked Professor Hagrid so much."
Wade glanced at him, guessing that Ryan must have overheard his threats to Malfoy earlier.
With a quiet sigh, Wade said, "Dumbledore won't fire Hagrid. Even the Ministry of Magic has no right to interfere with who Hogwarts hires as professors."
"But if this situation isn't handled properly, Hagrid might swing from one extreme to another—can you imagine spending the entire third year taking care of Flobberworms?"
Ryan's eyes widened. "No way! Flobberworms aren't even on the OWLs exam! And they're not a key part of our curriculum."
"Trust me, he would do it."
Wade said helplessly, "I'd much rather deal with dragons or a Sphinx in Care of Magical Creatures than watch our professor show up with a bucket full of harmless worms and teach us how to shove lettuce leaves into their throats."
