The first thing Vergil noticed upon arriving in the High Underworld was that something was wrong with the atmosphere.
He stood at the top of Bifröst, with Stella beside him. The bridge hadn't even finished materializing when he sensed an unfamiliar amount of demonic energy spread throughout the surroundings. It wasn't merely the presence of the invaders. There was something else, a constant pressure that made it difficult to distinguish spiritual signatures from a distance.
"Vergil, look at that." Stella grabbed his arm and pointed toward an area beyond the capital's walls.
A red dragon lay in the middle of a crater. It was approximately a hundred meters long, with two pairs of wings and a horn protruding from its snout. Vergil immediately recognized Great Red, although he needed several seconds to accept the condition in which he had found him.
The Dragon of Dragons' aura was almost completely gone.
