Vergil and Qliphoth had been walking through Samsara for some time, searching for any sign of the World Tree responsible for administering that place.
At first, Vergil had imagined it would be relatively easy to find. After all, an entity responsible for sustaining a reincarnation system of that magnitude should possess a considerable spiritual presence. However, Samsara was much larger than he'd expected, and the sheer number of souls circulating through its structures made it difficult to identify anything specific.
Enormous white platforms floated above a seemingly infinite space. Currents of spiritual energy connected these structures, carrying millions of souls through magic circles that examined their conditions before directing them toward different destinations.
Some souls were immediately sent for reincarnation. Others remained within purification structures, where their previous experiences were gradually removed.
