"Nianhua, I don't dare hope you'll acknowledge us. I just hope you won't be too polite with us, and give us a chance to make it up to you, okay?"
Jiang Wanru looked at Xu Nianhua hopefully, as if her refusal of the bracelet was taking away their opportunity to compensate her.
"Nianhua, just accept it. Look, I have one too." Su Xi raised her wrist to show the jade bracelet. She didn't like wearing gold or silver—they were too flashy. Jade bracelets were different: they looked good and weren't as ostentatious.
"This is from our hearts." Su Jinrong also hoped Xu Nianhua would take the jade bracelet. Back then, they lost their daughter right under their noses, and now, finally, God had given them a chance to find her. Su Jinrong wanted to give her everything good in the world.
This jade bracelet was the one Jiang Wanru had specially picked out when she first wanted to ask Xu Nianhua to be her goddaughter. Its color, quality, and size were all a perfect match for Xu Nianhua!
