Angela had barely finished brushing her hair when a knock came.
"Come in," she called, setting her brush aside.
Jacinta entered with a letter in hand. "This just arrived for you, Lady Angela. From the Kingdom of Kyrilia."
Angela's brows drew together. She rose and took the envelope, recognizing the signature purple seal before she even read the name.

She opened it slowly, unfolding the elegant parchment.
"Dear Angela,
It has been too long since last we spoke, and I imagine your days have not been the brightest. I would dearly love to see you again.
Why don't you come to Kyrilia for tea this Sunday? Nothing political—only us. My mother misses you already, and my father has grown curious since I told him about… you know who.
I shall send a carriage for you. Say yes. Please."
