"Ding! Ding!"
The attacks from both opponents were directly blocked. Alexander's body didn't even budge as the ice wall rendered their efforts futile. For a long time, their strikes failed to penetrate.
"Is that all you can do?"
Alexander smiled, calmly observing the two before him. Seeing his composed smile, the two figures attacked even faster. Yet, Alexander's form turned into an afterimage, dodging every blow effortlessly. With a sudden burst of Bajiquan, Alexander struck back with overwhelming force!
Bang! Bang!
With two devastating punches, Ryoko Kusakabe was sent flying backward, her weapons utterly destroyed. Tobiichi Origami didn't fare much better. Though she wasn't thrown back, her lightsaber and laser gun were completely shattered. Alexander stood unscathed, unmoving.
"Not bad," Alexander said with a smirk, "but now that you've lost your weapons, how could you possibly stand a chance against me?"
As Alexander's gaze fixed on Tobiichi Origami, he unleashed a fierce punch.
The sheer force of the punch caused Origami's hair to whip wildly.
This punch was far more terrifying than any of his previous attacks.
Origami didn't doubt for a second—if this punch connected, her delicate head would surely be severed.
"Am I… really going to die at the hands of a Spirit? As expected, these spirits are nothing but demons. But... if that's the case, I'll finally see my parents again."
Closing her eyes, Origami reflected on her life. After losing her parents, she had endured years of loneliness and isolation, with no one to rely on. Her world had been one of solitude and grief.
But now, on the verge of death, Origami felt a strange mix of reluctance and relief.
However...
No pain came.
For what felt like an eternity, Origami didn't feel the sting of death. She cautiously opened her eyes, only to see Alexander's fist, halted mere inches from her head.
Then...
Thump!
Alexander flicked her forehead.
"Ouch!" Origami yelped, crouching down and clutching her head. Tears welled up in her eyes from the sharp sting of pain. Yet, despite the discomfort, she didn't feel anger toward Alexander. Instead, she looked up at him, her eyes filled with confusion.
"Why… didn't you kill me?"
Origami couldn't understand. Every move she had made earlier was aimed at killing Alexander. Why had he spared her?
Alexander sighed, shaking his head. "Forget it. If I killed you, someone would probably scold me for hurting their sister or something. Besides… I don't hold any grudges against you, even though the nickname you gave me was pretty unpleasant."
Origami was stunned. Why was this happening? Wasn't he a Spirit? Weren't spirits supposed to be merciless killers? Why hadn't he finished her off?
Before she could process it all, Alexander turned away and knelt before Yoshino.
"Yoshino," he said gently, "come with me. From now on, you'll be my little sister. How about it?"
Yoshino stared at him with her wide, innocent eyes, stunned by his words.
To go with Alexander? To become his sister?
Her mind was in a daze. But as she gazed at the figure who had protected and cared for her, a sense of warmth filled her heart.
With excitement, Yoshino exclaimed, "Great! I agree! I agree! From now on, please take care of Yoshino!"
Her puppet echoed her enthusiasm, shouting alongside her. Blushing slightly, Yoshino glanced away shyly.
Seeing her response, Alexander smiled, took her small hand, and teleported them away.
"Stop!"
Origami's voice rang out, desperate to know why Alexander had spared her. But her plea was in vain—his figure vanished without a trace.
Left staring at the empty space, Origami's face filled with disappointment. She couldn't pursue him; after all, she couldn't use teleportation or space magic.
"Am I… too late?"
Just as Origami stood there, lost in confusion, a melodious voice like a silver bell reached her ears.
Moments later, a stunning girl, appearing no older than a middle-schooler, descended gracefully from the sky.
The name of this beautiful girl was... Mana Takamiya!
