The ring required a massive surge of Qi to open—energy she was currently lacking.

It was like standing in front of a vault full of gold without the key.

"I am a billionaire beggar," she muttered.

Back to the task at hand. Lu Xie planned to begin her arduous cultivation.

However, she quickly realized that this world was fundamentally different from the Nine Heavenly Realms.

In the Nine Heavens, Qi was everywhere—in the air, the wind, the clouds. One simply had to breathe.

But here? The air was barren.

There was no natural Qi to absorb directly. To cultivate in the Kush Heavenly Realm, one had to source energy from materials and resources.

'It is a Pay-to-Win world,' Lu Xie mused grimly. 'No resources means no progress.'

She organized Alia's memories to understand the mechanics.

Innate Spirits, were Elemental. To strengthen them, one needed Elemental resources and energy like Fire Stones or Flame sprit.

Mythical Attributes were non elemental but rather laws-like, such as mimicry, vibration, sharpness and so on. But required Natural Energy to evolve.

The problem was Natural Energy was incredibly scarce. Most energy sources were tainted with elements. Therefore, most people rarely leveled up their Mythical Attributes, leaving them dormant.

'Unless your Mythical Attribute complements your Innate Spirit. Then, you can feed one to fuel the other. Two birds, one stone.'

In summary, there were three types of energy source in the Kush Heavenly Realm.

Elemental energy which was used mainly to strengthen Innate Spirit, but the elemental energy must match the Innate Spirit it's is fed to. Otherwise they risk hurting or destroying their Innate Spirit.

The second type were Natural Energies which did not cary any trace of the elements and could be used to both strengthen one's Innate Spirit and evolve one's Mythical attribute. But it far more rare than elemental energy.

The final type were chaos energies. This type of energy had failed to sperate their different elemental properties causing it to be deadly.

"No wonder there is a Mission Board. This entire system is designed to turn disciples into indentured servants."

To get strong, she needed resources. To get resources, she needed money. To get money, she needed to be strong. It was a vicious cycle.

She retrieved a Green Chaos Stone from the wooden bead.

It was the most valuable currency in her current possession, yet worthless to a normal cultivator because of its chaotic, explosive nature.

"But I am not a normal cultivator."

Back in the Endless Catacombs, under the guidance of the Primordial Duo, Yang Chen and Yin Yu, she had used the Energy Puppeteering Array to subdue berserk energy. But that required active Qi, which she didn't have.

She had to take a risk.

"My Abysmal Star Innate Spirit... it is the manifestation of my Void Physique. And the Void does not discriminate, even light and darkness would be devoured by it."

She decided to bet everything on her own innate gluttony.

She sat cross-legged, stripped off her upper outer robe, and placed the Green Chaos Stone directly against the skin of her chest, right over her sternum.

"Devour," she commanded.

At first, nothing happened.

Then—PAIN.

The stone burst to life. Green wisps of glowing tendrils, looking like miniature toxic streams, began to drill into her pores. They flowed into her meridians, raging and disorderly.

"Guh!"

Lu Xie gritted her teeth. Her face twisted, sweat instantly drenching her body. She flushed red like a boiled lobster as the chaotic energy threatened to tear her fragile mortal veins apart.

'It burns....' she screamed internally.

Then.

Suddenly.

BOOM.

A ravenous maw opened inside her.

In her Upper Dantian, a Black Flowering Star bloomed.

It didn't spin gracefully. It didn't shine benevolently. It woke up with the unpalatable urgency of a starving beast.

It shot out greyish, dusty tendrils that bypassed her meridians entirely, flowing against the stream or chaotic energy, through her flesh until they reached the source.

The Stone.

SHLUCK.

In a split second, the Abysmal Star didn't just absorb the energy—it grabbed the physical stone.

Lu Xie gasped as she felt the solid rock being dragged through her physical flesh and bones, phasing through matter like a ghost, until it was pulled forcefully into her Upper Dantian.

The Black Star swallowed the stone whole.

Crunch.

The pain vanished instantly. The red flush on her skin disappeared. The chaotic energy was gone, digested in a microsecond.

Lu Xie sat there, stunned, clutching her chest. There was no wound, but the sensation of a rock moving through her ribs was something she wouldn't forget.

"What a tyrant..." she whispered, her voice filled with awe.

She knew her Abysmal Star was strong. But she didn't know it was this perverse. It hadn't filtered the chaos; it had simply eaten the chaos.

"If you are that hungry..."

With anticipation shaking her hands, she summoned two Yellow Chaos Stones from the wooden bead.

She slapped them onto her chest.

SWOOP.

The Grey Tendrils lashed out instantly, not even waiting for her command. The stones were dragged into her body and consumed before they could even release a wisp of energy.

et."

Burp.

She could almost feel the satisfaction radiating from her Dantian.

"It's bottomless," Lu Xie realized, a crazy grin spreading across her face. "These stones were seen as trash by others... but to me? They are an all-you-can-eat buff
