Chapter 184 - Chapter 184 An Unconventional Path

The surveillance soldier had switched the footage to a staircase connecting the third floor to the rooftop. Behind an iron door in the footage was the rooftop. Any enemy seeking entry would have to pass through here first.

The lock on the door remained intact, indicating he was still on the rooftop.

Just as everyone was on full alert, a sudden, loud bang and a violent tremor erupted overhead, seemingly shaking the entire building.

Before they could react, another bang erupted, even louder than the previous one, and the tremors felt even more intense. It came from behind them. Behind them lay the room where the warlord, the target of their mission, was staying.

"Oh no! He's blasted through the floor and come straight down!"

"The target is in danger!"

The special forces captain reacted quickly, leading his men to sprint towards the room behind them.

Their ambush room was adjacent to the warlord's residence, and once they emerged from that room, it was only a few steps away.

However, just as they rushed out of their respective ambushes, the captain, the first to react, was only two steps ahead. A few paces from the door, a gunshot suddenly rang out from behind.

"Bang!"

The captain's face changed, and he thought to himself, "Oh no!" He put more pressure on his feet and rushed towards the door in front of him.

"Bang!"

The sturdy door was kicked open by the captain who had rushed to the front.

The scene inside the room unfolded before his eyes. He saw the towering, imposing figure, like a humanoid beast, standing in the center of the room, spear in hand. Above him, a gaping hole, nearly two meters in diameter, ripped through the ceiling.

Clearly, as the captain had suspected, this mysterious enemy had breached two floors and entered the target room from above.

This not only demonstrated that he carried a powerful weapon capable of demolishing two floors in a short period of time, but also revealed his intimate knowledge of the target's location. From the rooftop, he precisely located the target room and, with a single stroke, destroyed the floor, bypassing the heavily trapped and guarded corridors, evading their defenses and reaching his target directly.

As for their target, the warlord, he had collapsed to the ground, blood gushing from a chest wound, clearly dying.

The captain, upon breaching the door and spotting the enemy, quickly pointed his rifle. His peripheral vision revealed the slain warlord, and his gaze darkened.

One of their missions had been to protect this close ally, and now that he had been killed, their mission had failed. They had to keep this mysterious enemy alive, no matter what.

With his gun fixed firmly on the towering figure within the room, the captain took two swift steps inside, opening the door behind him. Following him, his team members filed in, spreading out along the walls to either side, their guns trained on the imposing figure.

"Don't move!"

Besides Eric Killmonger, who commanded the Wakanda Palace, the only other figure possessing a colossal stature was M'Baku.

Leaping from his stealth fighter to the rooftop of the target building, M'Baku spotted several surrounding security cameras. Using the sonic cannon on his vibranium spear, he destroyed them all. Following the target's location detected by his fighter, M'Baku used the spear's sonic cannon to breach the floor and leap into the target's room.

As M'Baku breached the first floor, the warlord in the room, warily drawing his pistol amidst the explosion, drew his weapon. As the ceiling above blew apart, he pointed his pistol directly at the hole created by the sonic cannon.

When M'Baku suddenly leaped from above, the battle-hardened general pulled the trigger directly at the falling M'Baku, unable to dodge.

"Want to kill me? Dream on!"

After receiving news of the mass slaying of African warlords the previous night, the general had hurriedly contacted his "allies," the foreign forces that had been secretly supporting him.

Now, a dozen elite special forces they had sent were lying in ambush in the corridor outside. If he could even briefly distract the assassin, reinforcements would arrive quickly and capture him in one fell swoop.

However, while he had used his excellent marksmanship, experience, and quick thinking to attack M'Baku as he leaped from the building, that was all he could do.

The bullet from his pistol struck his target, but was deflected by the strange, tight-fitting combat uniform he was wearing, causing no damage.

Before he could pull the trigger again for a second attack, M'Baku's spear pierced his chest like lightning.

The sharp vibranium spear plunged unimpeded into his chest, piercing his heart completely. All the blood in his body, along with all his strength, rapidly drained away.

His finger on the trigger wouldn't pull, and he glanced down at his chest in disbelief. From the wound inflicted by the spear, blood gushed forth.

The light faded from the general's eyes, and his grip on the gun gave way. He let the pistol, his companion for years, fall to the ground, and he fell backward.

Having dispatched his target, M'Baku retracted his spear and prepared to leap from the hole above, returning the way he had come, when the room's single door was violently kicked open from the outside.

A group of elite special forces soldiers filed in, rifles pointed at him.

Facing the muzzles of a dozen rifles, M'Baku showed no fear. While his combat uniform lacked the immense defensive power of the Black Panther suit, it was still capable of withstanding attacks from ordinary firearms, so he saw no threat from the muzzles pointed at him.

Glancing disdainfully at the dozen or so special forces soldiers standing on full alert at the doorway, M'Baku sheathed his telescopic spear, leaned forward slightly, and then thrust his legs downward. His towering, majestic figure, like a giant, leaped through the gaping hole in the ceiling like an arrow from a bow, disappearing from the sight of the crowd below.
