Chapter 11 - Chapter Ten: Back To School (학교로 돌아가기)

I tried to avoid looking at the students whose attention was on me and my cast. I came back to school, and their stares made me wish that I were back at the hospital. Ha-ri pushed my wheelchair through the school halls and bent down to my level, "You'll be okay." She whispered into my ear.

I nodded and clutched the bag containing Taemin's suit to my chest. We got to class, and Ha-ri pushed the seat that was at my desk away before she pushed me to the desk and sat down after ensuring that I was secured to my spot.

Our classmates were just staring and that made Ha-ri really frustrated, "Don't you guys have anything better to do with your time? Look away!" She yelled.

Some students looked away while some didn't. I'm sure that's the Alphas in our class.

"Didn't you hear her? She said you should look away." Min-ho said from the doorway. The whole class faced him, and he quietly walked to his seat, not even sparing me a glance.

A few hours later, it was lunch period, and Hari took me to the cafeteria to eat. We brought our food and got to a table. I was about to take a bite of my food when Arin placed her tray next to mine.

I looked at her with a raised brow, "Uhm, can I help you?" She stayed silent, staring at me deeply. "Stop staring at me like that. I might start having this idea that you are in love with me." I said sweetly.

She rolled her eyes. "Stay away from Min-ho." I scoffed, "Why are you telling me this?"

She stared at me for hardly before raising her left hand like a crossing guard. I stared at her hand in confusion, "What?"

She pointed to her engagement ring on her ring finger, "As you can see, this is an engagement ring." Then she brought the hand down. "Okay. And how is that my business?" I said with a raised brow.

"Kim Min-ho is my fiancé, as you can see from this engagement ring." Gasps were heard around us, and Arin smiled with satisfaction. "So what? I can buy a Tiffany & Co. ring and claim that Min ho is my fiancé, or I can get a fake pregnancy report and claim that Min ho is the owner." I said with a straight face.

The students around us giggled and snorted, which made Arin furious, and she glared at them. She turned to me harshly, "Stay away from him."

I looked at her in confusion, "Oh, you don't have to worry about that." "What's going on here?" Min-ho said behind Arin.

Arin turned to him with a smile, "Oh. I was just politely telling Ji seo to stay away from you." Min-ho looked at me, then looked at Arin, "Why?"

"What do you mean, why? I don't feel comfortable when she's around you." Arin said with a pout. "So you're intimidated by me? Cool." I said before putting food into my mouth. Hari giggled next to me.

"Stay out of this new girl," Arin said harshly. I rolled my eyes at the stupid nickname. Min-ho stared at Arin, "So you told everybody that we are engaged?"

"I don't see any reason not to," Arin said, folding her arms. "So you went against your mother's wishes." "She's going to understand when I explain things to her." Min-ho rolled his eyes and was about to walk away when Arin held his arm.

"Why were you with her last night?" Arin said, glaring at me. I turned to Hari, "I've finished eating. Should we leave this lovers' quarrel drama?" I whispered. She nodded and placed her tray on mine, and I took it from the table and placed it on my lap.

She stood up and pushed me away from them, and we kept our trays and went out of the cafeteria.

Jeon Arin's POV (Point Of View)

"I don't understand," Min-ho said, looking confused. "What do you mean?! What was she doing in your house last night?" I yelled. "Were you spying on me?" Min-ho said with a raised brow.

"Answer my question first," I said, folding my arms. "Her phone was with me, and she stopped by my house to collect it, and I ended up taking her to the hospital." He explained, and I was even shocked he did.

"Why did you take her to the hospital?" "Are you that dumb, or are you just pretending to be? Did you miss the fact that she was in a wheelchair? I'm done with this conversation right now." He turned to leave again, but I held his arm.

"Well, I'm not." He looked at my hand on his arm, then looked back at me, "I don't care." Then he pulled his hand out of my grasp and walked away.

I looked around me and saw everyone was staring at me, "LOOK AWAY!" I yelled. I turned back to Jiseo but found out that she had left. I left the cafeteria in anger, with Chaeyoung following me.

"You shouldn't have done that." She said behind me. I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around. "What's that supposed to mean?" I said, glaring at her harshly. She shrugged, "You made a big fool of yourself in there."

"Mind the way you speak to me. Just because you are my friend doesn't mean that you should forget that I'm above you on the pyramid." I said harshly. She stayed silent, keeping her head low. I rolled my eyes before walking up to her, feeling guilty.

"I... Hey Chaeyoung," She looked up and raised a brow, "You look ugly when you're sad, don't take what I said to heart." I said, folding my arms.

She smiled at me, "You still find it hard to say sorry, don't you?" I rolled my eyes. "That word is pretty useless, and it doesn't heal anything, so why should it be said?"

"That was such a good show, Arin. I ordered lunch, and it also came with a show. " A loud voice said behind me. I rolled my eyes before turning to meet Park Jaehyun walking up to us. He is Taemin's best friend.

He raised his hand, wanting a high five, but I just stared at his hand blankly. He scoffed and raised his hand to Chaeyoung, who gave him a high five. She received a harsh glare from me.

"What do you want, Jaehyun?" I said, rolling my eyes. "Oh, nothing much. Just wanted to play with you for a bit." He said with a cheeky smile.

"Do I look like your little brother?" Arin said with a scoff. "Have you seen Taemin?" He said. "Why are you asking me?" I said, sounding pissed.

"Because you are his stepsister, I thought you would have a clue." I scoffed at the words 'Step sister' and scowled at Jaehyun, "He is not my step brother. Just because my mom is engaged to his dad doesn't mean that he is my brother. They aren't married, so they can do whatever pleases them."

"Don't you think you should practice what you preach, sister?" I turned around and saw Taemin leaning on a locker before he stood up right and walked up to us.

"What do you mean?" I said, crossing my arms. "Here you are, saying that our parents are just engaged and they don't own each other, but just a couple of minutes ago, you were threatening Jiseo to stay away from your precious fiancé." He said, giving me a mischievous smirk.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed Chaeyoung's hand, pulling her away, "Let's stay away from people who like to ruin other people's days."

"Stop comparing us to you, Arin," Jaehyun yelled after us, which made Taemin laugh. "Stop laughing, you bastard," Chaeyoung yelled, and Taemin's smile dropped. I looked at her in horror and turned to Taemin, who was already giving Chaeyoung a murderous glare.

"I'm so sorry, Taemin... It just slipped out." Chaeyoung stuttered. "Taemin, she didn't mean it," Jaehyun said, trying to calm his friend down.

Taemin said nothing, but just walked away, and Jaehyun gave Chaeyoung a look of pity before running after Taemin.

I pulled Chaeyoung away to an empty class. She was already quivering in fear, "Am I in trouble?" "I don't know. Why did you have to say that when you know his story?" I said. "It slipped out of me. I didn't mean to call him that." She said, almost crying.

"It's okay, stop crying. I'll talk to him." I said, cleaning her tears.

Min Taemin's POV (Point Of View)

"Hey Taemin, wait up!" Jaehyun called after me. I stopped and turned to him, "What is it?" "Don't get mad at her, okay? She didn't mean it." "I don't care," I said, shushing him up. I looked behind him and saw Hari pushing Jiseo in her wheelchair, heading my way.

They didn't notice me. Jiseo looked up, and her eyes met mine, then she looked back at her phone on her lap and adjusted her glasses. They passed me and I couldn't take my eye off her for some reason. A finger snapped in front of my face, drawing my attention.

"What's wrong with you?" Jaehyun said, raising a brow. I shook my head and looked behind me.
