MHA Universe, Earth, Japan, Musutafu.
"Soramoto-Kun." The voice of the black-haired female student sounded, drawing Tatsuo's, Akatsuki's, and Sakura's attention.
Turning to look, the trio saw the girl rising from her seat, her posture elegant. Then, after smoothing out her skirt, she stepped towards Sakura's desk where the three were gathered.
"Oh, Yaoyorozu-San." Tatsuo said with a small smile. "It's been a while."
"Tatsuo-Kun, who is that?" Sakura asked, her tone sharper than usual.
Hearing Sakura's interrogative tone, Akatsuki could not help giggling before patting Tatsuo's shoulder. Tatsuo, on the other hand, only shook his head.
"Looks like I'm gonna have to have a little talk with Sakura." Tatsuo said to himself. "I don't need another Mai-Nee. *Sigh* I should have a good long talk with Mai-Nee, too. This possessiveness of hers is getting on my nerves, too. And when she tried to attack Violet, that was way over the line.'
"This is Yaoyorozu Momo." Tatsuo said, introducing the girl, Momo, to Akatsuki and Sakura. "Alfonzo has a partnership with her family's company. Their inherited [Quirk] makes them a titan in material sourcing."
"Yaoyorozu, I think I've heard that name before." Akatsuki said in a contemplative toen.
"The Yaoyorozu Group is the largest source of materials for support companies in Japan." Sakura said while narrowing her eyes at Momo.
"That's right." Momo said while smiling gracefully. "Like Soramoto-Kun said, my name is Yaoyorozu Momo. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Likewise." Akatsuki replied with a smile. "I'm Hanekura Shizuka."
"Matou Sakura." Sakura said, her tone nowhere near as friendly as Akatsuki's.
"I heard you were a recommendation student." Tatsuo said after shooting a glance at Sakura.
"Indeed." Momo replied with a nod. She then continued while moving some stray hair behind her ear. "I actually thought I would see you at the recommendation exam."
"Yeah, Alfonzo asked me if I wanted to go that route." Tatsuo replied with a shrug. "But I wanted to see if I could set an entrance exam record. So, I passed. Unfortunately, I only got the second highest score of all time."
Saying that, Tatsuo glanced at Sakura again, signifying that it was her who ended up setting the record.
"I heard about that." Momo said with another nod. "This year was the first time that anyone scored a combined score of over a hundred. Yet, there were actually three people who did so. That is rather impressive."
Akatsuki scratched her head sheepishly at the compliment. Meanwhile, Alfonzo and Sakura did not seem to think anything was out of the ordinary for scoring as high as they did. And to be honest, Akatsuki never expected to score as high as she did, either. But her skill from Elder Tales transferred perfectly to this new world. So, she was able to act without even having to think.
From there, the conversation with Momo continued in a relatively harmonious manner. Though, Sakura did nothing to add to that. In fact, though she was not outright hostile, it was clear to anyone that she was not fond of Momo, for no reasons other than jealousy and possessiveness.
To her credit, though, Sakura did realize that her attitude would be something that displeased Tatsuo. And she was trying to be accepting. Unfortunately, after the life she led with the Matou family in the TYPE-MOON Universe, once she found something good, she was not very willing to share it.
'*Sigh* He's shooting glances at me more often.' Sakura lamented to herself. 'I'm not even his girlfriend yet. So, why am I acting like this? Especially since this girl hasn't even done anything wrong. I really need to fix my attitude. But I don't know how.'
Meanwhile, the classroom filled with more students as the conversation continued. And with each new arrival, Tatsuo looked to see who walked through the door, wanting to know who had been put in another class because of his, Akatsuki's, and Sakura's addition to Class 1-A.
'So far, there are eighteen students in the classroom including me, Akatsuki, and Sakura.' Tatsuo thought to himself while letting his eyes wander the classroom. 'I already saw Mina-Chan and Kirishima. So, I don't have to worry about them. But there are five students who Should have been in the class that haven't made it yet. Midoriya, Uraraka, Koji, Mineta, and Ojiro. *Sigh* At least Aoyama wasn't the one that ended up somewhere else. Otherwise, finding the first Nomu would have taken a lot more time. Anyway, let's see which of those five will fill the last two spots. Though, I have the feeling it will be Midoriya and Uraraka.'
And just as Tatsuo expected, right before the first bell rang, Izuku walked into the room, which led to Katsuki starting another confrontation, with Ochaco entering shortly afterwards.
The commotion caused when Katsuki confronted Izuku lasted until the bell rang. And while most of the students were standing around to watch the drama, Tatsuo and Akatsuki moved to their desks, ready for class to begin. Also, when Momo saw them, she checked the time on her wrist watch and also returned to her own desk.
"If you came here to socialize, you can go back home right now." A tired, bored sounding male voice said, cutting through the din in the classroom.
Immediately, all the noise in the classroom came to a stop. Then, all the students slowly turned their heads in the direction the voice came from. Yet, they did not see anyone who could have spoken. Instead, the only thing they saw was a yellow sleeping bag lying on the floor in the corner of the room.
The confusion on most of the students faces was easy to see. However, when they saw the sleeping bag stand up, that confusion turned into dumbfounded expressions. And when the sleeping bag's zipper began to lower, slowly revealing Aizawa Shota, several students breathed sighs of relief.
"It took you all eight seconds to quiet down after you heard me speak." Shota said in a solemn tone. "To be honest, you're not giving the best first impression."
"Um... Excuse me, Sir." the bespectacled boy who had introduced himself as Ida Tenya, said while raising his hand. "Might you be our homeroom teacher?"
"That's right." Shota replied with a nod. "I'm your homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shota."
Shota then crouched down and pulled a long sleeved shirt and pants, both colored royal blue, with white lines that formed the letter "U" on the upper torso of the shirt and the letter "A" on the abdomen. The pants also had white lines that ran from the waistband down the length of each pant leg starting in positions that would connect to the bottom of the "A" on the shirt were both worn.
"All of you got one of these P.E. uniforms, right?" Shota asked. Then, after receiving nods from the students, he continued. "Well, you've got five minutes to get changed and meet me on the field. We'll be having a [Quirk] Apprehension Test to see what you're all made of."
Shota then turned and started walking towards the classroom's door.
"But what about the opening ceremony?" Ochaco asked in a timid tone.
"You're training to be Heroes." Shota replied without turning around. "If you wanted to do normal high school stuff, you should have applied to a normal high school."
Most of the students were dumbfounded when they heard that. So, they did not have a chance to ask any more questions before Shota left the room. However, when they saw three students, Tatsuo, Akatsuki, and Sakura leaving the room shortly afterwards, they all snapped back to their senses, picked up their bags, and quickly followed.
A little more than a minute later, all the students had entered the locker rooms designated for their genders and started changing.
"Hey, Akatsuki-Chan, Sakura-Chan!" Mina said, the first of the other girls to enter the locker room. "Haven't seen you since we went to karaoke with Tatsu-Kun and Kirishima-kun."
"Mina-Chan, how are you?" Akatsuki said with a smile as she pulled her P.E. uniform's top over her head.
"Good morning, Mina-San." Sakura said with a polite bow as she pulled up the pants to her uniform.
Mina, though it had not been mentioned previously, had the [Quirk], [Acid], which allows her to produce a corrosive liquid from her skin. On top of that, she has the ability to control the solubility and viscosity of the liquid she produced.
"Oh, you know them, Mina-Chan, *Ribbit*?" A short and slender girl with noticeably frog-like features, including a wide mouth that dips down in the middle, large eyes with lower eyelids that protrude slightly, and large hands, hip-length, deep sea-green hair, and black eyes asked curiously.
This frog-like girl was Asui Tsuyu. Her [Quirk], [Frog], gave her some of the common abilities of frogs, such as a long, powerful tongue, great swimming ability, and powerful leaping ability, among other things.
"That's right, Tsuyu-Chan. I went to middle school with Tatsu-Kun." Mina replied as she carried her bag to an unoccupied locker. "He introduced me to them."
"Tatsu-Kun?"? He's the really handsome guy with the long purple hair, right?" A female voice that seemed to originate from right above a floating girl's uniform asked.
The invisible girl, Hagakure Toru, had the [Quirk], [Invisibility], which was constantly active. Meaning, no one has seen her real appearance since her [Quirk] manifested at the age of four.
"Yup!" Mina replied while stripping out of her school uniform. "He was the most popular boy in our middle school."
"It seems like Midoriya-Kun knows them, too." Ochaco said in a bubbly tone.
"Well, we did go to middle school with Midoriya-Kun and Bakugo-Kun." Akatsuki replied as she closed the locker where she put her bag.
"Oh, that makes sense." Ochaco said with a nod as she started changing clothes.
"So, you guys like karaoke?" A petite girl with fair skin, triangular, onyx-colored eyes, chin-length dark purple hair with asymmetrical bangs, and two flexible earphone jacks that hang from her earlobes asked with a hint of excitement in her flat tone. "Do you actually like to sing? Or is it just a hobby?"
The purple-haired girl was Jiro Kyoka. Her [Quirk], [Earphone Jack], allows her to lengthen and control the earphone plugs hanging from her earlobes like they were another set of limbs. She can also plug them into a surface to hear things and sense vibrations through the surface they are plugged into. She can use them to amplify the sound of her heartbeat and send violent vibrations through any surface they are plugged into, as well.
"It's just something fun to do." Akatsuki replied.
"Same here." Sakura added.
"Me, too." Mina said with a shrug.
"But Tatsuo-Kun is a really good singer." Akatsuki continued. "From what I've heard, he plays the piano, too. He's even recorded a few songs for fun. He doesn't intend to make a career out of it, though."
"Well, he told me that he might do it after he becomes a Hero, though." Sakura said. "But for now, he's focusing on his training."
"Really?" Mina asked in a surprised tone. "I never heard about that!"
"I wonder if he'll let me hear one of his songs." Kyoka muttered to herself.
Like that, the girls continued to chatter while they changed clothes. However, there was one girl, Yaoyorozu Momo, who found it difficult to join the conversation. Though, that was not to say that she was uninterested in chatting with her female classmates. Rather, she never really did anything like going out for karaoke growing up. So, she had no point of reference.
At the same time in the boy's locker room, a somewhat similar conversation was happening, as well.
"Dude, how the hell are you so ripped?" A boy with golden blonde hair parted to the right with a black lightning-shaped streak through his left side bangs, and black eyes asked after seeing Tatsuo without a shirt. "Hell, I didn't even know you could work on those muscles."
As he spoke, the boy, Kaminari Denki, with the [Quirk], [Electrification], which allows him to store electricity in his body and discharge it at a later time, poked at a muscle group on Tatsuo's torso.
*Smack!*
However, before Denki could touch Tatsuo, Tatsuo slapped his hand away.
"Dude, don't do that." Tatsuo said as he quickly pulled his shirt down.
"What's wrong, man?" Denki asked with a grin on his face. "We're all guys here."
"Yeah, I'd rather have girls touching me than other guys." Tatsuo said while taking a step back defensively. "I mean, if that's what you're into, that's cool. But I'll pass."
Tatsuo's implication caused Denki to pause. A moment later, the sound of some of the other boys' laughter pulled him out of his stupor.
"Hey! I'm into girls, too!" Denki shouted indignantly.
The laughter only got louder after hearing Denki's indignant roar.
"Hmph! What an extra." Katsuki said with a snort.
All the boys shot glances at Katsuki, who was changing clothes with a scowl on his face. Then, they completely ignored him and continued chatting.
Tatsuo, being the first one to arrive at the locker room, was the first one to finish changing. When he did, aside from answering the questions that were thrown his way and having a bit of back and forth with Eijiro, he tried to remember what he could about all the boys in his class.
'Let's see, first is Kirishima.' Tatsuo thought to himself. 'But I already know about him and his [Hardening Quirk] that allows him to make parts of, or his entire, body hard and sharp like a jagged stone. Then there's Bakugo. His [Explosion Quirk] lets him produce nitroglycerine from his palms and make it explode. Next is Kaminari's [Electrification Quirk]. And Midoriya with [One for All].'
Tatsuo continued to scan the faces of his classmates as he continued.
'Hmm... Next is Sero Hanta, [Quirk]: [Tape]. Allows him to shoot tape from his elbows for restraint and movement." Tatsuo continued. "Tokoyami Fumikage, [Quirk]: Dark Shadow]. A sentient [Quirk] that can think for itself while attacking and defending. Todoroki Shoto, [Quirk]: [Half-Cold Half-Hot]. He can generate and manipulate ice on one side of his body while he can do the same with fire on the other. But because of childhood trauma, he doesn't use the fire side.'
Unfortunately, before Tatsuo could remember three of the other four, namely, Shoji Mezo, Sato Rikido, and Ida Tenya, he noticed that the time limit Shota set was almost up. As for the fourth of the remaining boys, Aoyama Yuga, Tatsuo didn't bother to care. His [Quirk], [Naval Laser], which allowed him to shoot a laser from his naval, was not even his originally. Instead, he received it from the main villain of this world, All Might's nemesis, All for One, and was forced to be a spy and informant for the League of Villains.
On top of that, Tatsuo just could not see Yuga as a threat. And there were two reasons for that. One, the guy was not actually all that bad. Though, his tendency to throw in random phrases in French when he spoke was annoying. And two, no matter what Yuga tried, if they ever had to fight, Tatsuo was confident that Yuga would never be able to hit him with his [Quirk].
Not long later, all the students were gathered on the field where they found Shota standing in the center of a circle that was outlined with chalk and holding a softball in his right hand.
"Good, you were all on time." Shota said in his usual, no-nonsense tone. "If any of you had been late, I would have expelled you on the spot."
That caused most of the students to start shuddering on the spot.
