Chapter 97 - Bloody inconvenient

Silas blinked rapidly as he composed himself, slowly removing his hand that was beneath Ebenezer's head.

His knuckles were bruised from the impact because he had not put in much thought when protecting the vampire from hitting his head on the ground.

Ebenezer Ashford was slowly turning him into a considerate person and Silas didn't really know what to make of that.

His former self could have cared less for the vampire's comfort.

"Don't overthink it. It was purely instinct." Silas murmured as he rolled off the vampire, crawling his way out.

Ebenezer smirked as he followed the wizard, not at all surprised by his response.

Silas was still a little bit mean but Ebenezer was still determined to get the wizard to care for him.

A part of him already felt like he was making progress.

They continued walking, carefully watching their steps until they reached a section of the cave that had two tunnels, each leading to a different direction.
