Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: A New Dawn

The sun rose over the bustling city , like a phoenix from the ashes. The sky transformed into a kaleidoscope of colors, a breathtaking sight to behold. The crow of a rooster echoed through the streets, a familiar sound that signaled the start of a new day.

As the city came to life, people rushed to start their daily routines. As Cars honked, buses screeched, and motorcycles zoomed past, all vying for space on the crowded roads. The Pedestrians hurried to their destinations, some clutching briefcases, others carrying bags of goods and yet others rushing to school.

From a satellite view, the city looked like a sprawling metropolis, with buildings and roads crisscrossing each other like a maze. But amidst the chaos, one building stood out in sight- a wide big hospital, its walls a beacon of hope for those in need.

It had seen it all - from minor scrapes to life-threatening injuries. Its doctors and nurses had saved countless lives, and its walls had borne witness to tears of joy and sorrow. But today, a new patient lay in one of its beds - Vode, a young man whom happens to escape the clutches of death.

Dr. Ademola examined him, his face a picture of concern. "You were just in time, any more loss of blood and he might had died, we need to monitor him closely now. He needs rest to heal."

Aisha nodded, her eyes filled with worry, she had told him she'd was coming that evening for Maths lessons only to find him laying unconscious on the cold ground while the neighbors and onlookers kept standing and talking, probably they thought he'd rise like Lazarus. How ignorant people can be?. "Please make sure he gets it, Doctor."

Vode's eyes flickered open, and he winced as the bright light of the hospital room hit him. He tried sitting up, but the pain shot through his back, reminding him of his situation.

"What...what happened?" he thought to himself, trying to remember the events of the previous night.

As he lay back, his senses picked up on the sound of the door opening. He watched with intensity as Aisha entered, a big smile on her face and a bag of sweet-smelling pastries in her hand.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" she asked, her voice like music to his ears.

Vode's eyes locked onto hers, and he tried to speak, but his voice was barely a whisper. "I...I don't know. What happened?"

Aisha's smile faltered for a moment, but she quickly recovered. "You're safe now you're in the hospital and you'll get through this".

He was happy to see her but his mind was filled with colliding thoughts he just closed his eyes and said to himself "Vode it's alright".
