After explaining what happened when I came home from school to Jin he sat next to me looking slightly sad but he soon got back to what I assumed was his usual cheerful state and said to me "I'm sorry man, I really can't understand how your feeling right now and I can't help much but if you need anything I'll be here to help you." He said with a big smile on his face which in turn made a slight smile appear on my face unknowingly because even though it wasn't much his words made me think that maybe I could really depend on him.
"But anyway, I forgot this earlier but I kinda don't know your name." Jin said with nervous smile.
"Oh my name's Ryouto" I said kind of surprised about how he didn't know my name even though we were in the same class for 3 years, although there was the fact we never talked to each other before but still...
"Okay well Ryouto so what do you wanna do?" Jin said looking at me seriously. " What do you mean?" I asked confused. " Well my dad the guy with the blonde hair and grumpy face over there he was the one that asked me to talk to you, but I think he would still like to talk to you personally and hear what happened but if you don't want to, I'll just explain everything to him for you." "No I'll talk to him."I said firmly. "You sure? I mean you don't have to if you don't want to after all talking to a grumpy looking guy like that could scare anyone." Jin said with a chuckle. "Nah I'll do it" " Okay well let's go." Jin said as he got up and turned to me stretching out his hand to help me up with a grin on his face.
As I took his hand and got up, we started to walk towards his dad that was currently talking to another female officer. When we reached near them they both turned to us looking surprised at first but then relief crossed their faces after.
" Hey dad" Jin said when we finally reached them.
"Hey kid, so what's the situation?" " Well you can ask Ryouto yourself. Right Ryouto?" " Yeah, so.... If you want I can explain what happened when I came back home to you." I said with nervousness and reluctance settling in my heart but I pushed them away and looked straight at Jin's dad. He seemed to somehow see my change in emotion and smiled looking at me. " So what exactly happened here my boy?" "Well..." I took a deep breath and began my explanation of what happened.
"So I came home and immediately began looking for my grandmother, I ended up in the kitchen and not seeing her I turned to walk out but her voice stopped me. After I walked over to the other side of the counter and I saw her, her body lying in blood. She was still alive though and called me over. We talked, she told me to live on basically and died after. I lost track of time and was in a daze until the officer started shaking me and that's basically it." I said looking into the man's blue eyes trying to stay calm and not break down again.
"Hmm, although the information doesn't exactly give us any valuable clues. I can say that the person that did this wanted information." " Why do you think that?" The female officer asked. "The wounds on her body, they aren't just one size and each wound is meant to inflict max pain in the most sensitive places, I had my doubts earlier but I know for sure now because just the fact of her being alive when you came home was all thanks to her ability. After all not most people could still be able to talk after their heart was completely destroyed." "And how exactly does this prove the killer wanted information?" Asked the female officer again. " Well the various holes in her body first of all if they wanted to kill her in one strike the could have, there's practically no sign of struggle so she never got the chance to defend herself meaning they could have but they didn't. They kept her alive to question her and let's not forget the final blow the one that destroyed her heart, if they wanted to torture her they wouldn't have dealt that final blow. The wounds the already inflicted would've been enough to kill her it just would've took longer. Although I'm just guessing Hana so you could forget I said anything."
"Okay whatever you say but was it wise to say so much in front of the kids?" Hana asked.
"Yeah it's okay they'll probably forget this either way." Earl said not paying us any attention as they continued to ramble on. "Hey so anyway Jin your mom's probably getting worried all now I'll call her to pick you up okay."
" Hey dad I don..." "Yeah I know you don't like helping me out with work but this was a special case so I had to."
"Dad wait a minute I.." "Don't worry I tell your mom to make something special tonight as a treat okay kid" Earl said while patting Jin's head.
"Okay Ryouto I'll let Hana over here take you to the station and.."
"Dad!!" Shouted Jin looking quite frustrated at his situation. " Dad, could I stay with Ryouto, I wanna be able to help him." Jin said in a determined tone. Which took Earl by surprise. "Oh is that so, well if you're sure you want to." Earl said looking kind of lost.
" Hahahaha" I laughed uncontrollably as watching all of this from the sidelines was kind of like watching a live action movie which was hilarious to me. It made me forget for a second the reason we all were even here.
As they all turned to me looking at me as if I had three heads while I continued laughing holding my belly as it began to hurt from the non stop laughter.
"Hey man I don't get what's so funny, tell me the joke too" Jin said looking at me with a deadpan face.
"Nah it's a secret." I said finally being able to stop my laughter.
"Waw keeping secrets from me now I see" Jin said smiling slightly now. While Earl and Hana whispered something I couldn't hear to each other. "Anyway Jin since you want to stay with Ryouto I guess I'll just let your mom pick both of you up." " Oh nice, thanks dad" " Yeah no problem, plus I have a feeling he'll be staying with us for quite some time."
With that Earl told me and Jin to wait out infront my yard for Jin's mother saying she would come for us in ten or so minutes and indeed around ten minutes or so later she arrived driving a dark blue car.
She rolled down her window and said "Hey Jin I gotta go pick up something, go tell your dad I were leaving now." "Okay mom" Jin said as he rushed back into the house to tell his dad while I stood there looking at his mom feeling a bit awkward." "Ryouto right?" She asked" Yeah that's my name." I said tensing slightly. "Okay Ryouto you can call me aunty okay and no need to be so nervous, I don't bite." She said laughing at me
