Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 - Paradise.

Dockyard

A great flurry of activity was occurring in the dockyard as individuals were observed rushing around with boxes in their hands, seemingly transferring the boxes to the ship that was anchored securely in the harbor. A vehicle pulled up soon after, and a man dressed in a crimson suit exited the carwith assistance from his secretary, approaching the vessel where the hired men conducted all his tasks

All the work was carried by his assistant, who was here the whole time monitoring work in the absense of his boss.

"Is everything going smoothly?". The boss questioned as his eyes scanned the ship.

"Yes, a few more to load." His assistant answers standing beside his boss.

"But Boss-" the assistant added making the boss turn his head toward him, "But what?"

"Uh...you really shouldn't tamper with the Baldwin," the boss chuckled lightly for a second and do, he looked in a thought afterwards.

"Loius," he called his assistant, "Yes, Boss," came the response.

"Do you think he's important?" he asked "Similar to a large crime organization like a mafias? Strong on that one?" he began to doubt his secrecy while stifling his laughter, "No," he replied.

"A mouse might venture out to forage but flees from threats when it detects them." He laughed. "He's merely all talk." He tapped his shoulder and remarked, "Relax, he's afraid; he'll reconsider a thousand times before crossing me." The secretary found her boss's words reassuring, yet she remained uncertain

Soon, another vehicle approached the dockyard; if we counted it, there were seven cars in total, all black. James noticed his secretary's face appeared slightly frightened and turns around to observed just a car, devoid of any person.

"Who the fuck are you all?" he shouted making sure they heard his question, but to his surprise no one answered, so no one showed up.

James mind alerted, he gestured his men to arm themselved, because he danger coming any second, all the weapons pointed to the vehicles, "I asked who are you?" James again roared the question, looking a little concern about what was unfolding.

He had many enemies, and if they were one of them, he would be done for, and he could not afford that at this crucial time.

Once the car door swung open finally, a man dressed in black approached the opposite side and opened the door, waited for someone.

Every gaze was directed at the person who would appear. They were fully equipped and prepared to fire if things spiraled out of control, and shortly after the person emerged, a man dressed entirely in black stood straight, gazing directly at him.

Being a short-sighted man, James could not see the people stood there, in his dockyard "Who are you all?" He questioned again, demanding answer.

Loius looked at James, "Boss," he called but it seemed like his boss ignored him.

Gradually, the figure in black moved closer to Jame, who remained in complete confusion, before soon recognizing who it was, "Blaze" indeed, it was Blaze Baldwin.

"You being here indicates that you have bought the items." Blaze scanned the docks, gazing past the armed individuals, and the vessel behind them was filled with crates,

"You must have been alarmed" Blaze said as he saw James's men still armed pointing at him. "Well, safety comes first," he answers as he scanned Blaze up and down "One mistake from you and you would soon lie on the ground lifeless". He added his lips slightly curved.

"Bring the things to me, we don't have enough time." James said as he checks his watch.

As Blaze signaled to Arthur and Arthur headed back to their vehicles, several men carrying large boxes approached James, guided by Arthur. James wore a joyful expression while gazing at those boxes, and why wouldn't he? Inside were his profits that could transform his lifestyle.

Those men were positioned directly behind their boss Blaze, this confused James, "Why did you stop, load them up," pointing to the ship behind them.

"What's the rush," Blaze said, causing James to turn his head to him.

"What do you mean?" he asked, removing his glasses. "Are you not a hustler?" he said something that surprised James. Those around him looked at him strangely as he appeared uneasy. "What do you think you're saying?" James sneered.

James men were stunned, including his own assistant Louis, who was unaware of the reality. He stared at his boss in utter shock, questioning why he would subject them to such treatment. He often claimed to have extensive experience in this business, which is why many chose to work with him.

"Besides, you've engaged in pickpocketing, so it's not surprising," Blaze fixed his dark gaze on him.

"Louis, check your pockets." The assistant was told to inspect his pocket, only to discover that his wallet was missing. Consequently, Arthur began to search James as per his boss's order. "What—what are you doing?" Arthur pulled a brown wallet from his suit pocket and displayed it to Louis, "That's mine." Blaze appeared restrained as he watched, "So what I used to be that, it's work too" he stated, seeming somewhat melancholic, "Does that mean I'm not human?" He went on, "Is this how you intend to turn my men against me?"

James's men started glancing at one another and then at Blaze, nodding their heads in agreement with their boss. And yet again the weapons were all pointed toward him.

"We don't care what he used to be, one thing remains the same, he is our Boss," one of Jame's man spoke up.

"Give those boxes if you don't want any trouble Blaze."James threatened, "You know I have some power against you!" James lips cuved into a little smirk, "go on," Blaze said making James a little uneasy.

"I'm serious, Blaze," he said harshly. "10," Blaze whispered quietly. "I carry sufficient proof to incarcerate you," he retrieved a pen drive from his suit pocket, "Arthur, contact the authorities," Blaze directed his secretary. James furrowed his brow in puzzlement, as did his men. "Shall we get apprehended together, James?" Blaze approached James calmly, who retreated slightly in an attempt to create space, but ultimately Blaze stood directly still.

"I know you're putting on a act, you're actually scared inside, Blaze." James spoke and started laughing like a maniac.

"You shouldn't have."

Blaze then moved his hand in front of James, leaving everyone puzzled as they glanced at each other in confusion, and James started to laughing, "What was that Bl-" He couldn't complete his sentence because he sensed something strange happening to his mouth. Gazing down, he noticed his lower tongue on the ground and blood scattered all around; fear engulfed him as he put in his fingers inside his mouth to feel his tongue, felt nothing but blood, and everyone was terrified.

Everyone was stunned; no one understood what happened, but Blaze was at fault. The victim, James, cried out in terror, soon followed by gunshots from both sides. James sprinted for his life as Blaze stood watching him flee with the piece of tongue still grasped in his hand. Doing that felt like paradise to him. Grasping the item he referred to as his name, he severed it and pursued him.
