Chapter 30 - Kael’s warning.

As she continued to scan the room, waiting as servants came round to tidy up the messy place, a dark figure suddenly emerged from the shadows. He was tall, with piercing blue eyes and jet-black hair that fell to his shoulders. He wore an all black suit with a long black coat on top. As he walked through the hall, his cold eyes scanned the place slightly and it eventually settled on Valeria. His presence seemed to command the air around him, and his gaze locked onto Valeria with an unnerving intensity.

"This time, your corruption has gone too far," he said, his voice low and even. "You're a danger to yourself and others."

Valeria's gaze narrowed, her eyes flashing with defiance. "And who are you to stop me?" she sneered.

The stranger smiled, his cold eyes glinting with a hint of fang. "I'm someone who's been waiting for you, Valeria. My name is Kael, and I'm here to put an end to your reign of terror."

With that, Kael charged forward, his movements a blur of speed and power. Valeria laughed, her eyes blazing with excitement, and the two clashed in a flurry of fangs and fists.

Valeria and Kael exchanged blows, their movements lightning-fast as they clashed. Both of them fought like their life depended on it, with no restrain or hold back. But amidst the chaos, they reached a sudden understanding.

"Tell you what, Kael," Valeria said, her eyes gleaming with a fierce light. "If I manage to injure you, you'll tell me what brings you here."

Kael's gaze narrowed slightly, but he nodded. "Very well. But don't expect it to be easy."

Valeria's laughter was a cold, mirthless sound. "I'm counting on it."

With renewed ferocity, they attacked each other with might. Valeria's fangs sliced through Kael's defenses, and he grunted in pain as she landed a blow that sent him stumbling back.

"You win," he said, his eyes flashing with a mix of anger and admiration. "I'll tell you my mission but, it's up to you to choose what to do because I can't help you in anyway."

"What is it?" Valeria demanded with impatience, her chest heaving with exertion.

"A catastrophe is coming very soon," Kael said, his voice low and urgent. "One that will threaten everything you hold dear. If you can't master your corruption, you and your loved ones will be in grave danger."

Valeria's eyes widened. "What do you mean? How can I master it?", she knew it was true that she couldn't master her corruption and she had already seen the outcome of it.

Kael's gaze locked onto hers. "You need to find your soulmate. Only they can help you balance your corruption and unlock your true potential..."

"But…"

Before they could continue their conversation, the sound of screeching tires and revving engines filled the air as cars zoomed into the school gates.

Valeria's eyes rolled heavenward. "Great timing."

Kael's lips turned with a smirk. "It seems our conversation will have to wait, see you soon."

With that, he dashed off.
