Wufu woke up when the waves slapped against the hull, lying in bed listening to the alarming sounds outside, she quickly turned over and sat up.
"Miss?"
Both Purple Jade and Jadeite got up as she turned, voicing their inquiries.
"Light the lamp." Wufu walked to the window, pushed it open, and took a look outside. A rush of salty air hit her face, the sound of waves slapping grew louder, and dark clouds roiled on the horizon.
Inside the room, the light went on. Wufu closed the window and said, "Put on your clothes, but don't wear anything too heavy or cumbersome. Put on your life jackets."
Purple Jade and Jadeite paused, looking at each other.
Wufu had already quickly dressed and put on her 'life jacket'.
The so-called life jacket was nothing more than a piece of net cut into a 'garment' with only two sleeves, tightly bound with two medium-sized gourds.
