When it came to these two clowns and their equally eccentric captain, Castle had plenty to laugh about. Watching through Jarvis, he saw the captain lighting incense and muttering to himself, almost bursting with laughter. It seemed that Miami's Narcotics Division hadn't yet targeted the dealer in question, which meant the storyline of Bad Boys II hadn't kicked off yet. Since he'd stumbled upon the situation, why not lend a hand?
Castle despised drug dealers as much as traffickers—they were among the worst of humanity. With nothing else pressing, helping out the Ferrari-driving cop Mike and his goofy partner Marcus on a big case sounded like a good diversion.
The case itself was straightforward. A Cuban drug lord named Tapia smuggled a potent blue pill (not Viagra) into Miami from Cuba. Hidden in cadavers with emptied organs, he used corpses to smuggle drug money back to Cuba. Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, both part of Miami PD's Narcotics Division, attempted to intercept these drugs based on a tip but failed to find more evidence. Marcus's sister, Syd, an undercover DEA agent who was romantically involved with Mike, posed as a money-laundering expert to infiltrate Tapia's operation. However, when Tapia discovered her true identity, he took her hostage to exchange for the million dollars Marcus and Mike had confiscated.
Fueled by their own motives—Marcus wanting to save his sister and Mike, his girlfriend—the pair launched a daring rescue mission to Cuba, eventually defeating Tapia and rescuing Syd.
Castle's interest wasn't just about helping his new friends; it was his firm belief that drug dealers deserved nothing less than absolute justice. Besides, with Castle's godlike vantage point, it would be entertaining to see if Mike and Marcus still fumbled their way through the investigation.
Most memorable from the original movie was the duo's escapade at the morgue. In a bizarre twist, Marcus accidentally ingested two of Tapia's potent pills, leading them to act like complete buffoons late at night in their captain's home. Adding to Castle's fondness was the amusing captain, who, unfortunately, met a tragic end in Bad Boys for Life, shot by Mike's estranged son.
Between his dislike for drug dealers and his recent free time, Castle was eager to help. He also had a side plan in mind: why not involve Jo Martinez's newly recruited girlfriend at the FBI? By leaking information on Tapia aiding Bakawi's escape, Jo could score a major achievement. With Bakawi now safely out of the country and Castle's plans to watch London Has Fallen intact, Tapia's fate was sealed. Why not make good use of him?
The more he thought it over, the more he liked the idea. He quickly called Moz over to his study to strategize.
Moz, ever the mischief-maker, was thrilled to join in Castle's plot. "Great idea, Uncle Rick! Just tell me what to do," he said, eyes glinting with excitement.
"Don't rush," Castle advised, chuckling. "According to intel, Miami's Narcotics Division hasn't yet noticed Tapia's operations, so we have time. Our main goal is to provide Jo's girlfriend, Henry's new lady, with the perfect opportunity to make a career-defining bust. As for the drug dealer? Well, he has to go!"
Moz nodded, laughing at Castle's sudden grandiose air. "Uncle Rick, you're really getting into this whole 'puppet master' vibe."
"Puppet master? No, I'm the hero here!" Castle replied, feigning indignation.
Moz, his survival instincts kicking in, quickly agreed. "Of course, a hero—going after drug dealers for justice…even though, maybe, you're just bored?"
"Hey, if you and Ramsey already guessed I let Bakawi go, why ask?" Castle smirked. "Look, Bakawi's situation was messy—his family got wiped out by some scheming arms dealers who pushed the CIA into striking him. He wasn't originally targeting New York; he only came here after Hobbs got a lead in Los Angeles. But once I warned him, he wisely left. Why risk my neck for other agencies when I can see where he goes next?"
Moz shrugged, finding Castle's reasoning amusing but not entirely surprising. A bit of chaos, a bit of order—it was classic Castle.
"Helping Aunt Jo and the Miami PD take down a drug lord? That sounds like fun!" Moz grinned, already getting into the plan.
With the details ironed out, Castle called Henry. "Jo's been tracking that terrorist, Bakawi, right? I was busy negotiating with Pratt & Whitney, so I couldn't assist. But I looked into it today—turns out he fled the country through Miami. And he had help from a local drug dealer. Ask Jo if she'd be interested in going after this guy—I can provide intelligence."
Henry immediately relayed this information to Jo, who had been frustrated by Bakawi's sudden disappearance. Overjoyed at the breakthrough, Jo wasted no time and deployed her best team: the dynamic duo of Maggie and Zidan, two top agents known for their prowess in the field.
When the two agents arrived at Castle's Long Island estate, he felt a surge of delight, recognizing them as the protagonists from FBI. His mischievous side was thoroughly entertained. Without delay, he briefed the two agents on everything he knew.
"So you're saying Bakawi escaped the U.S. with help from this Miami drug lord, Tapia, and went to Cuba?" Maggie clarified.
"Exactly. After fleeing New York, he headed south to Miami, where he found an old associate from his arms-dealing days. Through this connection, he was smuggled to Cuba," Castle replied smoothly. "I was too busy to pursue it earlier, but after finishing my talks with Pratt & Whitney this morning, I followed up on this lead…"
Castle's comment left Zidan and Maggie speechless. The entire FBI had been hunting Bakawi, yet Castle, with just a bit of free time, had managed to find this crucial intel? This man's talents were beyond them, but it didn't matter—Castle had delivered them a golden opportunity.
"So, what's your recommendation?" Maggie asked, fully aware of Castle's unique expertise.
Castle, donning an air of noble conviction, responded, "I think you should nail this drug dealer for aiding a threat to national security. But since Miami PD is also on his trail, you'll need to act fast…"
Of course, Castle had already sent all of Tapia's intel to Miami's quirky police captain, but did they need to know that? Not at all.
