Dark clouds covered the moon, as rain poured heavily down blanketing a dark forest.
Inside the dense forest a small light came through from an old window, covered in vines and tall grass, its worn down wood sat surrounded by dense trees that supported it from falling apart.
The inside of the the shack was bare, with grass and large roots misplacing some of the floor boards. In the center of the room laid a single lit candle that illuminated the room.
The only inhabitant was a small ten year old boy, who was sleeping barely covered with a small red worn down blanket.
He had thick black unkept hair that covered his head as his brown skin glistened from the fire of the lit candle, he wore a dirty dark green shirt and worn down black cargo pants with a torn pocket.
((Boom)(Boom)).
His green eyes snapped open from his sleep hearing the sound of a explosion. Even from fat away he felt it echo in his ear, he tossed the blanket away with an urgency as he stood up .
He felt the cold wood under his bare feet and the vibrating of the old shack floor as another explosion went off in the distance.
He started shaking when another explosion was went off after the next, he didn't know what was going on, but it was loud, he just hoped his home wouldn't get targeted next.
He found this shack a few months ago while scavenging for food and claimed it as his home after a few weeks of nobody coming to this part of the island. Now its location and low visibility was playing a massive part in hiding him from whatever was going on.
His head whipped to the candle and hurried to blow it out, in the dark dense forest his home would be a beacon when the rain subsided if anyone was doing a thorough investigation.
He sat on his knees with his back to the vibrating shack door, sitting in the darkness he started shaking in confusion and fear.
He didn't have a guardian, a mother or a father, since he could remember he was alone, his earliest memory was when he was five years old and even then he was alone.
He woke up sitting in a alleyway with a red blanket wrapped around him, a bag of nonperishable food and a couple pairs of clothes next to him.
With a vague blurry memory that elided him and gave him a headache when he tried to remember and with no note from anyone on who he was and how he got here, he was lost and confused.
He tried talking to the people in town too see if anyone knew him, but he didn't know the language they spoke!
At first the people he ran into that had on fancy clothes and wore bright rocks on their hands and necks just waved him away but soon over time as he started to become dirty from living on the street it became disban when people saw him.
Then anyone he met began yelling at him in words he couldn't understand and even threatening violence as they grabbed knife's and swords when he food started to go get low.
Thankfully he eventually met people on ships who came to the city to sell and trade. Their were some kind people on these merchant ships who took pity on him and showed him how to read and write along with the guards showing him how to hunt and fight while they stayed there.
The greatest thing he figured out was his name that was on his blanket, at least he thinks it's his name?
Kazuki Tsuki was the name on the blanket so that was his name also, it was the only thing besides the bags and cloths he had on him when he woke up in the alley.
He didn't know what caused him to be left abandoned with no memory, but he was determined to survive.
When he got to know the language and currency he knew he couldn't continue living in the alleyway. And when he found out that the kind merchants would soon department he was devastated.
But under there encouragement he pushed through and after they left he went into the wilderness to make a camp with supplies and gifts that the merchants left him along with information about the worlds and books about sea travel.
He was in the east blue area, on Nitora island, the age of sea circle (Kaien) July 9, 1500. A wealthy tourist attraction that heavily favored nobleman and noblewomen alike due to its high class standards.
After getting accustomed to his situation he visited the town twice a year for supplies along with trading anything that he found was valuable, but he mostly lived off the land, sleeping outside, fighting animals for territory daily and reading his books.
It was hard at first but he soon grew quick to love it, and learned to correct his mistakes along the way, soon he gained great strength and endurance being able to fight most large animals to sell or eat at his discretion.
But soon he found out he that physical strength might not matter in the face of a explosion or great force. Especially after learning about marines, and devil fruits.
Two months ago when visiting to sell some pelts, he had seen some kids playing around on a ship.
Then they accidentally fired the cannon, causing it to hit a nearby building and explode in a fierce blaze, causing a lot of injury's and fires to break out.
Since then he kept a low profile especially hearing about fights randomly breaking out between people called pirates and marines, who had people that can destroy cannon balls easily and even some who can cause even greater destruction.
He was told from one of the old merchants at the port that someone doesn't even have to be involved with either group, just being near them could cause death.
So Kazuki decided to wait a few hours until he no longer heard anything going on outside, his home was safe since it was in the dense forest and someone would have to actively look to see his home.
But…
What will he do if they do come here?
Last week he had an encounter with two bears in the forest who found his shake when sniffing around while he was cooking inside and when he came out to look, they attacked him.
He fought them off throwing large tree branches and rocks aimed at there eyes and mouth every time they tried to bite him he maneuvered out the way till they eventually ran away tired and injured.
But…
He tightened his trembling hands to stop the fear he felt. Soon the sound of the rain and explosions stopped and silence reined, he didn't know how long he stood there.
Kazuki slowly made his way to the old small window of the shake, he felt his steps were the loudest they have every been. Sounding like thunder in his ear.
He crept up to the window and peered out into the distance, his home was facing towards the town but usually because of the trees he could barely see anything.
But today he saw enough…
Flames burned bright in the distance licking the trees in the horizon, it was night but he could see the fierce fire burning bright. It looked like the other half of the island was on fire.
'W-what! Did a cannons do that!', Kazuki thought as he stood frozen with fear in front of the window, light from the distant fire reflected in his green eyes.
Smoke could be seen rising into the sky, storm clouds from the weather a couple hours ago seemed to darken even more then the pitch black smoke that was rising into the sky.
Kazuki watched in what looked like a pitch black hand descending down to swallow the town, he fell on his back and just sat there stunned.
He didn't like some of the people there but it wasn't like he wished death to them! There were even good people who helped him out there at the port.
He clutched his trembling hands together, there was nothing he could do, but he shouldn't just do nothing….
'Jahajahajaha'.
He snapped his head toward the window, immediately leeping to his feet to see what caused the sound, he peered into the distance to see several black silhouettes coming towards his side of the island.
Kazuki didn't waste a second and hurried himself to grab his red blanket, before heading to the back of the shack and removing a thin piece of wood, blocking a hole leading to the outside.
He jumped out the hole and immediately started running into the distance, he didn't know where to go, but he knew he needed to get as far from his home as soon as possible.
'Bang''Bang'
!'They can shoot me from this distance FUCK!',! His speed increased as he kept hearing shots sound out behind him.
While running, some trees in front of him got shot up as the shoots got closer to him, he didn't need to look back to know someone was quickly catching up. He started to weave through the trees to confuse whoever was behind him.
'Bang'(Boom)
Kazuki while running was suddenly flung from his position when a explosion hit a couple trees from him.
He couldn't prepare himself as he was thrown against a tree causing his back to dent it and the tree to nearly split in half from the force.
Air escaped his lungs as he felt a burning sensation in his insides at the lack of air, he tried to breathe and get his breath back, as he soon heard feet cluttering in the distant coming to his location.
Taking a deep breath he jumped to his feet ignoring the pain from his back and started running again, his lungs burned and his body felt shattered with shards of wood poking out his back and legs leaving a bloody trail.
But he couldn't stop, not when it would mean death.
Running was difficult but he kept his stride as he passed dozens of trees, his vision started to waver but he never stopped moving.
Soon the trees started to thin out till he could see a clearing up ahead, casuing him to go faster till he reached it, but he suddenly halted his run and stared ahead in horror.
'NO!!'.
He made a mistake, a deadly mistake, he never ventured out this far out the island and and thought it was a beach on the other side but….
He stared at the end of a cliff that lead to a 50ft drop into the ocean, he could jump but it would be the same as dying in his condition.
'Bang'
"FUCK SHOULD HAVE JUMPED!", He yelled in pain as blood flowed down his shoulder, as hole tore into his shoulder cuff.
Blood ran down his arm, he yelled in pain and fell on his knees near the edge of the cliff trying to gain unsuccessfull distance from his pursuer in his confused and hurt state.
Tears ran down his face as he looked back into the forest to see a figure in all white with a top hat and an animal mask of the same color, the man stepped out towards the cliff taking slow steps.
"What amazing luck."
The figure shook its head, they then reached into their pocket and dropped a small red ball near their feet and kicked it lightly over to him.
Kazuki frozen in pain and fear watched apprehensively at seeing the ball roll towards him and watched as the figure stepped back a couple steps then waited just looking a him.
What felt like hours passed as they just stared at each other and he clutched his red blanket in fear, but then the figure suddenly snapped his fingers.
'Snap'(Boom)
The ball exploded covering the boy and area in a large explosion of fire, distroying the cliff and sending debris directly into the ocean below.
The man with the white masked just looked, as the fire plummeted into the ocean below.
"Damn I thought he would grab it, it's never fun when they just don't grab the ball!" The figure muttered to himself, he turned around and started walking back into the forest.
"Maybe I should give a notice? "Hey catch this", yeah that sounds cool, then ba boom!", He muttered to himself. "Well I'll figure it, just got to keep on killing, then I'll have my catchphrase."
"Jahajahajaha."
The dark laughter echoed into the forest that soon started to get covered in flames and explosions.

~Somewhere at sea~
'Cough, cough ugh'
Kazuki threw up water, breathing heavy as his body washed ashore, he struggled to get out of the waters pull, using his only mobile hand pushed his body up to move away from the currents tug.
"Fuck, fuck." Kazuki hoarsely muttered in pain, clawing his way forward till he was out of the waters pull, he then laid on the sand panting out of breath as he stared at the unbothered blue sky and sun.
"The world really does just keep spinning." He coughed out feeling his body grow weak and his eyes lids began to get heavy, a panic throbbed in his chest.
"Help, anyone please. Help me." Kazuki weakly roared even as he felt something tear in his throat at his attempt to yell, he fought clenching his hand and biting down on his teeth as he struggled to stay conscious even as his vision began to blur
"Help please, anyone?"
What felt like hours passed as he watched the sun began to dip, he realized that no one was coming and the last thing he saw was his red blanket in his vision as his consciousness went black.
