Chapter 17 - Awakening In The Cabin‎

The morning light filtered through the small round window of Xefer's cabin, casting a golden glow across the wooden floorboards. Xefer stirred first, his senses sharp even in rest. He rose quietly, his movements deliberate, and glanced at the three figures still nestled in the cabin. Keala and Keeva, the flame‑wielding twins, lay side by side, their breathing steady. Kunai rested nearby, her hand lightly curled around the hilt of her sword even in sleep.

‎

‎When their eyes fluttered open, they found Xefer already awake, his presence commanding even in silence. Their cheeks flushed as memories of the previous night returned—memories of whispered vows, shared warmth, and the unspoken bond that had deepened between them. None spoke of it directly, but the blushes and the way their gazes lingered upon him told the story well enough.

‎

‎Xefer, composed as ever, moved to the adjoining washroom. He bathed swiftly, the cool water refreshing him after the long night. By the time he emerged, the girls were awake and preparing themselves. They too took their turns to wash and dress, their movements graceful yet tinged with anticipation.

‎

‎Together, they stepped out of the cabin and onto the deck. The ship awaited, its sails ready to catch the wind. Xefer took the helm, his hands steady upon the wheel, guiding them toward the Grand Line. The girls stood at his side, their eyes alight with determination. The month of training had transformed them, and now they looked forward to the adventure that awaited beyond the horizon.

‎

‎The sea stretched endlessly before them, its waves rising and falling with a rhythm that seemed to echo the beating of their hearts. The Grand Line was no ordinary sea—it was a place of chaos, opportunity, and destiny. Xefer knew that their journey would test them in ways they could not yet imagine, but he welcomed the challenge.

‎

‎By midday, the ship encountered another vessel. Its sails were tattered, yet its flag bore the mark of a pirate crew known for their brutality. The captain, a towering figure with scars across his face, stood at the bow. His bounty was infamous—forty million berries, a testament to the destruction he had wrought across the seas.

‎

‎Xefer's eyes narrowed. This was no chance encounter. It was a test, a trial set before them by fate. He turned to his crew, his voice calm yet resolute.

‎"Prepare yourselves. This battle will show the world who we are."

‎

‎The girls nodded, their flames flickering in anticipation. Kunai's hand tightened around her sword, her resolve unshakable. The ship drew closer, and the clash became inevitable.
