Chapter 21 - Flames, Steel, and Treasure

The fortress‑ship loomed, its walls jagged and bristling with cannons. The captain stood at the bow, his aura pressing down like a mountain, but Xefer's storm had already risen to meet him. Lightning crackled above, winds howled, and the two leaders locked eyes.

‎

‎Yet this chapter belonged to the girls.

‎

‎Keala, Keeva, and Kunai stood at the front lines, their powers unleashed, their spirits burning. Xefer's earlier words lingered in their minds: "Whoever takes down the most gets a gift from me." It was teasing, affectionate, but it lit a fire in their hearts.

‎

‎---

‎

‎Keala vs. the Axe‑Bearer

‎

‎The first lieutenant was a brute, wielding twin axes infused with haki. His strikes were heavy, each swing splitting the air with lethal force. Keala met him head‑on, her flames roaring, but his steel cut through fire, forcing her back.

‎

‎"Damn brute," she muttered, her arm aching. "If I don't win this, Xefer will laugh at me for weeks."

‎

‎The lieutenant sneered, pressing harder. One axe caught her arm, sending her sprawling. Pain flared, but she remembered Xefer's smile, his promise. She rose, her flames surging higher.

‎

‎The fight dragged on, each clash shaking the deck. Her fire melted steel, but his haki‑hardened strikes kept breaking through. He slammed her against the wall once, bruises spreading across her ribs. She coughed, flames flickering, but her eyes burned brighter.

‎

‎"Not yet," she whispered. "I'm not losing here."

‎

‎Her fire twisted, engulfing his axes, melting them down to slag. He faltered, his weapons crumbling, and she struck with a torrent of flame. His body burned, his scream cut short, and he collapsed.

‎

‎Keala smirked, wiping sweat from her brow. "That's one for me, Xefer. Hope you're watching."

‎

‎---

‎

‎Keeva vs. the Whip‑Mistress

‎

‎The second lieutenant cracked her whip, haki sparking along its length. Each lash tore through the air, cutting flames apart. Keeva's fire burned bright, but the whip wrapped around her leg, dragging her down. She cried out, her body slammed against the deck.

‎

‎"Ugh… Xefer's going to tease me if I lose to this hag," she spat, forcing herself up.

‎

‎The woman smirked, her whip striking again, but Keeva's resolve hardened. She dodged, her flames weaving around her body like armor. The whip lashed across her back, pain searing, but she gritted her teeth.

‎

‎"You think pain will stop me? My fire burns hotter than this!"

‎

‎Her flames twisted, wrapping around the whip itself. She pulled hard, dragging the lieutenant forward, and unleashed a torrent of flame point‑blank. The woman screamed, her body scorched, her whip consumed. Keeva's fire blazed, her pride affirmed, and the lieutenant fell.

‎

‎Keeva grinned, brushing ash from her hair. "Two down. Keala, don't think you'll beat me in numbers."

‎

‎---

‎

‎Kunai vs. the Swordsman

‎

‎The third lieutenant was a swordsman, his blade sharp, his strikes precise. He moved with speed, his haki‑infused blade cutting through Kunai's defenses. Their duel was fierce, sparks flying with each clash.

‎

‎Kunai staggered, blood trickling from a shallow wound across her shoulder. Her body ached, her breath heavy, but her eyes remained sharp.

‎

‎"Xefer said not to let you two hog the glory," she muttered, her grip tightening. "I'll show him swords can win too."

‎

‎The swordsman pressed harder, his strikes relentless. He slashed across her thigh, pain flaring, but she refused to yield. She countered, her blade flashing, her strikes growing sharper.

‎

‎The duel stretched long, each clash echoing across the deck. Kunai's arms trembled, her wounds bled, but her resolve never faltered. With a final thrust, her sword pierced through the lieutenant's chest. He gasped, his blade clattering to the deck, and he fell.

‎

‎Kunai smirked, wiping blood from her shoulder. "That's mine. Xefer better count it."

‎

‎

‎The Crew

‎

‎The lieutenants lay defeated, but the lesser pirates remained. Dozens charged, their formation tight, their weapons raised.

‎

‎Keala and Keeva unleashed twin storms of fire, their flames sweeping across the deck, consuming ranks at once. Pirates screamed, their bodies scorched, their weapons melted.

‎

‎"Try to keep up, sister!" Keala shouted, her flames roaring.

‎"Ha! You're falling behind already!" Keeva retorted, her fire blazing brighter.

‎

‎Kunai's blade flashed, cutting through soldiers with precision. She smirked at the twins' banter. "Argue all you want. I'll take the rest."

‎

‎The pirates fought hard, their discipline strong, but without their lieutenants, their formation faltered. The girls pressed forward, their powers unleashed, their strength undeniable.

‎

‎The battle stretched longer, the pirates refusing to yield. Cuts and bruises marked the girls, their breaths heavy, but their spirits burned. Slowly, the tide turned. The pirates fell, their numbers dwindled, their fortress collapsed.

‎

‎The deck grew silent. The fortress walls crumbled, the cannons shattered, the crew defeated. The girls stood together, their breaths heavy, their bodies battered, but their eyes alight with victory.

‎

‎---

‎

‎Treasure Below

‎

‎The battle was done. The pirates lay defeated, their fortress broken. The girls looked at each other, their pride affirmed, their bond stronger.

‎

‎"Keala," Keeva teased, "I think I killed more."

‎"Dream on," Keala shot back. "Xefer's gift is mine."

‎Kunai smirked, sliding her sword back into its sheath. "You two can fight over kisses. I'll take the treasure."

‎

‎Together, they descended into the lower deck. The air was thick with smoke, the walls cracked, but the treasure room remained intact. Chests of gold, jewels, and weapons lined the chamber, the spoils of countless raids.

‎

‎Their eyes widened, exhaustion forgotten. They had fought, they had won, and now they reaped the rewards.

‎

‎Keala laughed, her flames flickering with joy. Keeva grinned, her pride shining. Kunai smirked, her sword resting at her side. Their laughter echoed through the chamber, their spirits high.

‎

‎Above, the storm raged, Xefer locked in his duel with the captain. But below, the girls claimed their victory, their treasure, their pride.
