"Out of all the woman you went on the blind date with, you chose her and married her." Grandfather scoffed when Xu Kai walked in.
"Cheng Xiao is different from those women grandfather." Xu Kai replied and sat where Cheng Xiao had been sitting.
"How is she any different? She is just a gold digger, and I don't approve of this marriage."
"What do you mean?" Xu Kai asked.
"I mean that I want to you to get a divorce." Grandfather Xu said.
"No!" Xu Kai said sitting up.
"I went through a lot of work to marry her; I will not let her go so easily." Xu Kai added, how could he let her go after all he went through.
"Grandfather I am serious about her, and she is not a gold digger." Xu Kai said.
"Really?" Grandpa Xu asked not believing him.
"Yes, this whole time we have been married she has never asked me once for money." Xu Kai replied.
"Besides that, she is one of the best designers in the company." Xu Kai added.
"How is she a designer when she is assistant?" Grandpa asked.
When grandpa Xu handed the company over to his son Xu Kai's father, he stopped interfering in the company affairs. To him he had done his work and now just enjoyed the quiet moment with his wife. So, Cheng Xiao changing from secretary to designer was news to him.
"Grandfather, she was my assistant for seven years for a personal reason which she has not told me yet, and yes she is a great asset to the company. The headpiece you saw in the magazine was actually hers." Xu Kai explained.
"She designed that?" He asked in disbelief.
"Yes, now there is orders from everywhere for that design, but we agreed to only make three. People are now calling asking her to create something for them." Xu Kai said.
"I understand that, but it will not change my mind about her." Grandpa Xu said sternly.
"Grandfather, I will not leave her." Xu Kai said as well, not backing down from his decision.
"Grandfather, you have watched me grow up and you also know that even those women from the blind dates never impressed me. Only her, only Cheng Xiao stirred up my heart when I thought that love was impossible for me. I need her, but I know for a fact that she doesn't need me, not after the way I married her anyway." Xu Kai said looking down.
"How did you marry her?" His grandfather asked.
"I dragged her to the marriage bureau." Xu Kai replied.
"Didn't she seduce you?" Grandpa asked puzzled.
"No, she had resigned at that even. That was when I realized I couldn't live without her; I lost my mind when mom sent me a picture of her with another man. I thought that she was going to be taken from me which was why in that moment I married. Seduced me? I wish she could, she has been trying to get a divorce from me this whole time." Xu Kai said.
