"I have to applaud you, the way you schemed into marrying my grandson is truly remarkable." Grandfather Xu said, although it would sound like a compliment, he had no smile when he said it.
"What can I say? Your son is one of the richest bachelors in the city." Cheng Xiao said with a smile, though she was shaking inside.
"How much do you want to leave my grandson?" Grandfather Xu asked.
"How about five billion dollars?" Cheng Xiao asked with a smirk.
"I'll give you ten, make sure you get as far from my grandson as soon as possible." Grandfather said.
'What a greedy woman that brat decided to marry.' Grandfather Xu thought to himself.
'I would have accepted her, had she actually turned the offer down. But what else could you expect from someone from a middle class.' He thought to himself.
"That is great and all but we both know your grandson, there is no way he will divorce me." Cheng Xiao said.
"Leave that to me." Grandfather Xu said, no matter how much Xu Kai was going to argue, he will have no choice but to divorce Cheng Xiao.
"You can leave!" He said pointing to the door.
"The money?" Cheng Xiao reminded him.
"You will get it." He said with a scowl on his face.
"Call him to come in." He said not looking at her.
"Okay!" Cheng Xiao replied and stood up.
Cheng Xiao walked to the door and let out a sigh before opening the door. "This is for the best." She muttered to herself and walked out. Outside the door Cheng Xiao saw Xu Kai who was leaning on the wall beside the door.
"That was fast." Xu Kai said when he saw her coming out.
"It went well." Cheng Xiao said with a smile.
"He asked you to go in." Cheng Xiao said.
After all she was going to finally get what she has been longing for this whole time. You could say it has been two months now since that incident. She might have to leave the company as well as leave the city too, after all Xu Kai was not someone who gave up easily.
There was another option for her when she walked into that office, she could have tried to make him accept her but when he said about how she had seduced Xu Kai into marrying she gave up on that option. Since grandfather was convinced that she had seduced Xu Kai, how was he to believe anything she had to say.
It was better this way, this marriage should have never happened in the first place, now things could go back to the way it should have been. Xu Kai could now be free to marry a woman who was in the same social class as his. Cheng Xiao felt a pang when she thought of Xu Kai being with another woman. She tried to push the thoughts aside and walked away, she got lost and asked one of the maids where the garden was.
