The wind carried the faint scent of incense, smoke, and something more acrid, a subtle reminder of the darker nature of this lower realm. Haze, Elena, Adam, and Verrin moved cautiously, weaving through alleys and open courtyards alike, their footsteps echoing in the narrow spaces between the crooked buildings.
