After a snap of his fingers, the gravity dissipated. Loki stood up from the pit, still a handsome figure, his green robes adding to his aura. However, after what just happened, Brock found it hard to see the dignity of an Asgardian god in this guy. In fact, quite the opposite; it was clear this so-called god was no match for Arthur.
'What does this ultimately prove? That the person proving things is simply more powerful!'
But Loki was clearly no ordinary god. Even after being pinned to the ground and beaten, he stood up now, eyes rolling skyward, not even glancing at Brock, but looking at Arthur and saying, "Don't think you've won."
Arthur thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers again.
The next second, Loki vanished from where he stood!
"This is so boring!!!!"
A pit opened in the ground, and Loki roared from inside.
Arthur peeked in and teased, "Being stubborn usually comes with a sweet consequence. Are you happy now?"
"…" Only the decorum of the divine realm kept Loki from cursing aloud; otherwise, he would have unleashed a string of profanity by now.
After another snap of the fingers, everything recovered and calmed down. Loki once again climbed out of the pit, looking handsome, grinding his teeth while staring at Arthur.
"If you want to bite me, I suggest you get a rabies shot first," Arthur said. "Besides that, I need to know, how exactly do you control the Symbiote?"
"Actually, it's trying to control me," Loki replied.
Arthur looked at Brock, and Venom's voice immediately responded: "No! You have to believe me, I'm supposed to eat all your enemies! How could I suddenly betray you? Though we have no formal promises, when facing situations like this, we always side with whoever benefits us… He's clearly no match for you. Even with me, it's still not enough!"
"Seems like the latter argument is more convincing." Arthur looked back at Loki: "To be honest, if you think I'm Thor, you're probably becoming a little ridiculous."
Loki gave Arthur a deep look, then smiled: "What would you do if I didn't tell you?"
"Doesn't matter. I'll find a way," Arthur said. "If magic is the best method, then I'll just head in that direction. I'm sure I can find what I want."
"What about time?" Loki asked. "I don't deny there are some clever mortals on Earth who can do trivial things, but that probably takes a very long time. Do you have that time? Aren't you worried Thanos will find you?"
"As a smart person, the first thing to control is your own mouth."
Arthur smiled. "And for you, I think you never wanted to see Asgard destroyed, right?"
Loki squinted: "If they knew what kind of person you really are, maybe they wouldn't choose you."
"They knew exactly what kind of person I am from the very beginning," Arthur shrugged. "But they still chose me. Loki… you're the only one who never understood me from the start!"
Loki took two steps back and shrugged: "Fine, then you two go spend your time doing what you think you can. I'll return to be the God King… Hopefully, time will prove which of us is right!"
Arthur watched Loki leave but didn't stop him. Only after he was gone did Arthur sigh softly: "Time has no answers. Only people do."
"Why do I feel like I just heard something major?" Brock said. "This divine realm seems more complicated than I thought."
"Because they have a complicated family situation. Simply put, Loki is…"
Arthur suddenly paused, blinked, and then sighed: "Never mind, it's nothing. Let's go."
He suddenly remembered that Loki was from the Frost Giant clan, the child Odin took in. To let him grow up like an Asgardian child, Odin changed his appearance.
So, the experiments Venom conducted on him can't represent all of Asgard.
But on second thought, it probably doesn't make much difference.
The Frost Giants have stranger physiques than Asgardians, but their body density is roughly the same. If Venom can parasitize Loki, then parasitizing someone from Asgard likely wouldn't be a big problem either.
The main point is, this matter has taken a new turn and found a new direction.
If Symbiotes can be controlled through magic, then maybe I should make a trip to Kamar-Taj.
But before that, I still have to find a way to deal with those Symbiotes scattered across the universe. And Brock… After all this, he clearly has doubts about the current situation. I need to explain things to him so that when we return, he doesn't say something foolish and ruin Odin's painstaking efforts.
…
Long story short, in no time, Arthur was back on Earth with Brock.
On the way back, Arthur gave a rough explanation of the situation. When the light flashed and they landed, they unexpectedly found themselves near Norway.
"Since we're here, it wouldn't do to just pass by without seeing anything. Let me show you what a real God King looks like," Arthur suddenly thought.
"Sure."
Brock shrugged, nodding. "I always feel like with you, there's always something amazing happening."
"Yeah, my girlfriend hasn't seen any of these amazing things yet…" Arthur sighed.
He really hoped that one day, he could take Lily on a journey, running all over the place to see these legendary figures standing tall in the world, those who stand at the pinnacle yet still harbor great strength in their hearts.
He suddenly felt that perhaps his own changes today were influenced by these people.
Drawing a teleportation circle on the ground, he stepped on it with Brock, and in the next second, the two of them disappeared without a trace.
When they appeared again, they were standing on lush green grass, and as far as the eye could see, there was an endless ocean.
"You know? Every time I see you, I feel like it doesn't matter whether I live one day longer or one day less."
An old voice came from behind. Arthur turned around to see an elderly couple walking hand in hand toward him. The old man's face wore a smile as he spoke: "You left faster than I expected."
