Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: The Making Of An Epic

This is my own personal thoughts as an Author on the story inspirations and all that jibber-jabber, but with some clarification on the story you'll read so feel free to skip :).

A thought came to me as I was writing this story, "Where are all the Evil Main Characters?"

Not LUSTFUL Main Characters, Not ANTI-HERO Main Characters, and no, not those RUTHLESS main characters in Cultivation novels that have tons of face-slapping moments either.

I mean a genuinely evil-main character.

I spoke about it in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njxGL8Tx-p0 [Fake Evil Main Characters- by Atomfactor]

And to summarize it, an [Evil Main Character:is someone who has a clear purpose or goal (like any well-written character), yet will do whatever it takes to accomplish that goal, regardless of any moral standards.]

That is this book.

Greatly inspired by Reverend Insanity, after having read that book it in many ways ruined alot of others book for me.

It made me stop and think of how frivolous alot of what Main Characters in those stories do.

I originally pursued writing about an Evil Main Character with my book Devour Heaven, and it was quite well received; however, in Webnovels fashion of being encouraged to post a chapter every day I feel after the 1st 30 chapters the quality deteriorated, yet after having to sifted through loads of books which didn't satisfy my desire for a truly Evil Main Character I decided to start up writing once more.

I see this book as a way to grow as an author to come back to Devour Heaven in the future.

Originally I just saw this novel Nightmare Glitch as a throwaway, where "At least I'm writing to show how I'd do it."

Yet, I felt the start of the book was pretty bad, really only picking up around Chapter 4 which is AGES for light novel standards.

Now I feel that pace is much better while also being most captivating and consistent throughout.

In terms of chapter upload frequency, I don't see myself updating the book everyday.

While I'll try to stay as consistent as I can, between work, working Youtube videos, and streaming, there's not a whole lot of time.

Yet, as someone who loves to read more than nearly anything I'll do my best to stay consistent and all chapters for this book will be free, I'm doing it more so for the love of the game, and want everyone to to be able to experience the story if they enjoy it.

Touching on the Character Arc for this book:

I originally just wrote the MC in this book plopping in and BAM, he's evil, but now I think after much deliberation I want to show the evolution, or some would say, devolution of his worldviews as he slowly begins to become corrupted.

Pacing:

My biggest issue with light novel stories is that no matter how good they start, they always become poopy with alot of fillerish scenes, which is such a shame considering the worlds and character the author got us to care about.

To circumvent this issue I've decided to not rush to post everyday, but if you've watched anime then you're probably familiar with how anime used to do filler episodes which are HORRIBLE. Now the new method is to do things by seasons or arcs, which I think will be much better for story cohesiveness and reader enjoyment.

Instead of you having to wait to stack your 1 chapter a day, you'll just get 150 or so chapters at once and can read to your hearts content while also having a summary at the start of the new arc.

That way you don't run out of chapters in the middle of the arc and having to scratch your head wondering what happened, and it allows for better story telling with there being a clear cause and effect to things, making the world feel more alive.

But most importantly, there will be no fluff.

No wasted conversations, no word padding, everything will be purposeful, and therein more enjoyable.

Overall, I have my own thoughts on how I want my book to be and I have a burning desire for a Protagonist who isn't driven by lust, morals, or short-term pleasures.

I hope to properly convey a sense of wonder, cause and effect, and world-building that (while I haven't thought into as deeply as Devour Heaven, cuz that's over 100+ pages of just world lore) I still hope you enjoy.

After a year of delay on updating this novel, please enjoy and of course feel free to give any critcism you have.

I can't promise I'll deliver any suggestions, ex. Harem most likely will never be a thing in this book, but I'll read all thoughts regardless.

Thank you for reading this if you have read, and enjoy :).
