Chapter 84 - What do you feel?

The Song estate looked the same from the outside—grand, untouchable, calm. But the moment Ji Eun stepped in, she knew something was wrong. It wasn't the silence. The Song house was always quiet.

It was the movement.

The servants moved with purpose, crossing the marble hall with folded linens, fresh flowers, and trays of tea as though preparing for an important arrival. The air held that particular tension the estate only wore when outsiders were about to step into their world.

Ji Eun's heels slowed.

Her gaze sharpened.

Mrs. Lin appeared near the corridor, directing two maids toward the east wing.

"Careful with those," Mrs. Lin instructed. "And make sure the guest room windows are opened—just a little for fresh air."

Guest room?

Ji Eun's eyes narrowed.

"Mrs. Lin," she called, voice crisp.

The older woman turned quickly, her expression instantly cautious. "Young Miss, you're home."

"Who's staying in the guest room?" Ji Eun asked.

Mrs. Lin hesitated—only a fraction, but it was enough.

Ji Eun's voice cooled further. "Say it."

"…Mr. Park," Mrs. Lin answered softly.

The name landed like a match to gasoline. Ji Eun's expression didn't change—but something dangerous flashed behind her eyes. "Hyun Woo?" she repeated, as if saying it out loud might make it less absurd. Mrs. Lin lowered her gaze. "Master instructed we prepare the guest room for him. He will be staying… for a short while." Ji Eun let out a quiet laugh that held no humor.

"A short while," she echoed, turning sharply toward the main hall. She moved fast with her steps like someone going to war, with the air around her storming.
