Chapter 79 - The Chase

Minutes later, Ji Eun stood behind her desk, posture straight, tablet now set aside. The view behind her framed her like a queen on a glass throne.

She didn't fidget.

She didn't pace.

She waited - calmly - like a storm holding its breath.

A soft knock sounded.

"Miss Song," Yuna's voice came through, controlled and professional, "Mr. Park Hyun Woo is here." Ji Eun didn't look toward the door. "Send him in." The door opened with Hyun Woo stepping inside.

Not hurried.

Not hesitant.

As though he'd been invited to a place that already belonged to him. Yuna closed the door quietly behind him and disappeared without another sound. For a moment, neither of them spoke. The silence was thick and charged with everything they hadn't resolved. Ji Eun's gaze cut to him.

"You're bold," she said, voice cool. "Showing up here."

Hyun Woo's eyes moved slowly over the room - then settled on her.

"You're bold," he replied evenly, "thinking public humiliation would make me retreat."

Ji Eun's lips curved faintly. "It made people look at you."

"And you wanted them to," he said.

"Yes," she replied. "Because men like you hate being watched."

Hyun Woo's expression didn't change, but something sharpened in his gaze.

"Men like me?" he echoed.

Ji Eun leaned forward slightly over her desk, eyes bright and dangerous.

"Men who can freeze deals and corner people like chess pieces," she said softly. "Men who think power makes them untouchable."

Hyun Woo took a step closer.

"Do you think I'm here to discuss business?"
