At Jujutsu High – Classroom
Keitaro could tell Yuta was on edge. He didn't think he had that much of a threatening presence now, did he? From what he mostly heard from people he didn't know personally and those he did, his presence for the most part felt soothing, calm even when he wasn't pissed off.
Which currently he wasn't—he was in quite a good mood—so he should feel not like a threat and more relaxing to anyone looking at him, right? So why was Yuta shaking in his presence like he was some form of terrifying entity he shouldn't look in the eyes? The boy seemed to be rather tense, and his cursed energy was fluctuating wildly.
"Relax, Yuta. I am not here to hurt you," Keitaro said in a rather calm voice.
Yuta raised his head and looked at the man. He was still moving quite stiffly, unsure how to handle the gaze of one of the strongest sorcerers alive. Saying he was nervous was quite an understatement. He was incredibly nervous.
"So, he's the new student you told me about?" Keitaro added, looking at Satoru.
"The one and only," Satoru replied with a smile.
"You two might be related."
"HEH!?" was the reaction he got from both Satoru and Yuta.
"The energy he emits is similar to yours and that of another member of the Gojo clan, though it seems distant. If I were to guess, I'd say you two share ancestry with Sugawara Michizane... though he possesses something else—a Fujiwara lineage."
"Well, I guess he's more blessed than you, Satoru," Keitaro muttered dryly. Jeez, was this kid gifted. Having such a busted lineage, he had the potential to become stronger than both Satoru and Keitaro. Jeez, that was a lot of potential.
"Weren't the Fujiwara and Sugawara at war with each other?" Panda suddenly asked, to which Keitaro looked at the Panda and said, "Well, yeah. And good to see you're actually studying."
"Real-life Romeo and Juliet," Satoru said, sounding excited.
As Keitaro noticed how Yuta seemed to be crumbling under the weight of the pressure placed on him, he placed his hand on the boy's shoulder.
"Don't stress yourself too much. If you feel overwhelmed, you can always call me for help. I'm always available to help students in need."
This seemed to calm him down a bit. Well, that was good for now.
Yuta managed a nod. "T-Thank you, Keitaro-sensei."
"Oh, by the way, Maki, we're making your favorite food later today. Mind dropping by and having a quick bite?" Keitaro said in a joyful tone as he exited the room.
Maki, sitting somewhere at the front of the room, took his words into consideration but did give Panda a glare as if to say, "Open your mouth... I dare you."
Keitaro's Home – Preparing a Feast
Upon returning home, Keitaro placed his groceries on the kitchen counter, letting out a contented sigh. He then began preparing the food. The meals he was about to make were quite difficult to craft, but he didn't care—they tasted good.
He rolled up his sleeves and got to work, starting with the profiteroles, carefully preparing the choux pastry. As he piped the dough onto the baking sheet, he recalled Shoko's sweet tooth and decided to add a subtle orange zest to the cream filling.
Next came the chiles en nogada, a dish that required delicate precision. He roasted the poblano peppers and filled them with a flavorful mix of ground meat, nuts, and fruits, topping them with the rich walnut sauce and a scattering of pomegranate seeds.
Finally, he turned his attention to the galantine, skillfully deboning the chicken and stuffing it with a savory blend of herbs, vegetables, and spices.
Well... he had done well. His hands moved with practiced ease as he assembled the dishes.
Dinner with Family
After what felt like an eternity, the food was done. He set the table and everything. As he was going on about setting more places, Shoko walked into the kitchen, noticing all the foreign cuisine on display.
"You've really outdone yourself," she remarked, eyeing the dishes appreciatively.
Before they could start eating the food, the front door to their house opened, and the unmistakable voices of Maki and Mai filled the house. Well, guess they came back for the food. That was always good to hear.
"Welcome back," Keitaro greeted them warmly. "Wash up and join us. I've made plenty."
The twins entered the dining room moments later, visibly pleased by the sight of the elaborate spread. "Smells amazing," Maki said, pulling up a chair.
The food tasted great, especially with all the extra snacks that Keitaro had made just for this special occasion.
A/N: Okay, so chapters are coming late because I have like zero chapters in draft... which means when the chapter comes out is when I finish writing and editing it, which is something I don't like.
I like having plenty of chapters in my draft; however, due to me getting a horrible case of writer's block for this story and the Amazon story for like a month now-ish, I haven't been able to write much for them.
The reason Sora's story goes on fine is because I have 50 chapters in draft... not even kidding about that one. There are 50 chapters fully done and edited for it. I think the reason for that is because it's new, and it's a new story that I haven't written before, so the ideas come flooding in. But I'm sure when I reach Fake Karakura Town or the Thousand-Year Blood War, I'll get author's block for it.
Anyway, I tend to avoid situations like these, but due to school starting up again for me, until I can get chapters back in my draft, the upload schedule for this story will vary greatly. I can only upload in my free time, and Math and Physics are currently hitting a 20-piece combo... no biscuit... on me.
Webnovel readers don't have that problem since they're like 50 chapters behind. By the time they read this, this story should have at least reached chapter 100—that's if I keep the current uploading schedule.
Anyway, hope y'all understand. If there's a grammar error or a sentence feels off, correct it.
