Chapter 21 - is it really that hard to win

The labyrinth's voice echoed through the stone halls, cold and mocking.

"Welcome, adventurers. My riddles are tough, my monsters relentless. Odd floors bring battle, even floors bring riddles. The nineteenth floor holds the boss. The twentieth, the treasure none have ever seen. Let us begin."

On the first floor, we fought through swarms of low loose souls, their wails filling the air. My Holy Slash cut them down, light scattering their shadows.

The second floor riddle came: "Who is the master of elements? Who is fit to wield Bloody Berserker?"

Sanot answered confidently, "Alchemist and Berserker." The door opened.

The third floor brought middle loose souls. We fought hard, but as I stepped forward, Last Minute Luck activated. A glow flared—Bange was trapped.

A voice hissed, "This labyrinth is not easy. Traps await. When all are caught, you will be expelled forever."

On the fourth floor, the riddle asked: "Which dangerous species, exposable class, can wield Mighty Body?"

Sanot replied, "Killer and Enchanter." The door opened. High loose souls attacked. We fought, but when I stepped back, luck twisted again—Clever was trapped.

The fifth floor riddle: "Who controls the swing of the sword? Who defends the castle?"

Sanot answered, "Swinger and Holy Knight." The door opened to the sixth floor, filled with high souls. Sanot's elemental magic annihilated them. But Alovent stepped forward and was trapped.

The seventh floor riddle: "Who is the helping hand and support? Who transforms anything?"

Sanot answered, "Helper and Transmuger." The door opened. But when Sanot struck a low half-soul, the trap triggered. He too was sealed.

The trap shimmered, revealing its true nature. This seal was once used to bind the Demon King. Now, only the Hero remains.

On the eighth floor, the riddle asked: "Who uses dead bodies, not fully human? Who kills in shadows?"

Narrate's voice whispered invisibly, guiding me. "Necromancer and Assassin." The door opened. Middle half-souls attacked. Their strength overwhelmed me, but Last Minute Luck activated. My Holy Immune expanded into a guarding radius, killing weaker enemies instantly. I survived.

The ninth floor riddle: "Who uses forbidden skills? Who knows the area where he stands?"

I answered, "Forbidder and Sagout." The eleventh floor opened, filled with poisonous high half-souls. I endured, using Holy Immune and luck to press forward.

The twelfth floor riddle: "Who is equivalent to holy power? Who slays monsters in one strike?"

I answered, "Holy Knight and Slayer." The door opened to low ghouls. Physical attacks failed, but their poison turned against them. Luck and Holy Immune carried me through.

I thought grimly, If this had been an AOE skill, I would have been trapped. But luck saved me again.

The fourteenth floor riddle: "Who forges weapons and equipment? Who tames monsters?"

I answered, "Cultivator and Former." The door opened to high ghouls.

But here, my Holy Slash and Holy Immune faltered. The ghouls resisted light, their bodies impervious. My blade struck, but they did not fall.

I stood alone, my companions sealed, my trust broken. The labyrinth pressed forward, its riddles twisting, its monsters growing stronger.

Yet catastrophe was my ally. Luck bent fate, and I resolved: Even if this labyrinth was built to break me, I will endure. I will reach the twentieth floor. I will claim the treasure none have seen.

Thus, Dransart continues deeper into the Impenetrable Labyrinth, alone against riddles and monsters, his catastrophic skills the only hope of survival.
