"Hey! Are you even listening to me? I'm warning you—if you don't leave our island, I'll tell the elders! And unlike me, they won't go easy on you! They'll throw you straight into the big stove and roast you over a fire! I'm not making this up—this is real!"

Hearing this, Arthur was momentarily speechless. He glanced at the kid and then casually replied,

"Listen, kid, you were just drooling over candy a second ago.

Besides, I can't just leave right away. I need to gather enough energy before I can move on to the next island. My Log Pose still needs time to reset, so I'm not going anywhere until then.

So stop trying to scare me. Do I look like someone who gets scared that easily?"

With that, Arthur shrugged and ignored the kid.

Seeing that Arthur wasn't taking him seriously, the boy became frustrated. His face scrunched up, and before long, his nose twitched. Then, with a loud wail, he plopped down on the ground and started crying.

Arthur was caught off guard. He hadn't even done anything to the kid! Wasn't this the same brat who was just trying to act all tough?

He looked around. There was no one else nearby, but the kid's crying was ridiculously loud. Arthur let out a sigh, clearly annoyed.

Looking back at the boy, he hesitated for a moment before speaking awkwardly.

"Alright, alright, stop crying. Here, I'll give you some candy, okay? Just don't cry anymore. I don't want people thinking I'm bullying a kid. See? I'm giving you all of it!"

Arthur pulled out a handful of candy from his pocket and handed it over.

The moment the boy took the candy, he immediately stopped crying. He unwrapped one and popped it into his mouth, his tears vanishing as quickly as they had come.

The moment the candy hit his mouth, the child's face instantly lit up with satisfaction.

He cautiously glanced at Arthur. Since Arthur had given him candy, that must mean he wasn't a bad person.

The child's heart was pure, and he smiled after a moment before extending his hand toward Arthur, offering a friendly gesture.

"My name is Xiao. What's your name? And what exactly are you doing on our island? We don't have anything fun here."

Xiao was still puzzled by these questions.

After hearing this, Arthur simply shrugged, unsure how to answer the boy's curious queries.

Was he supposed to say he came because he thought the island seemed interesting, so he wanted to check it out?

"Well, it's nothing really. I just think it's fun how all the flowers on your island are floating in the air—and you're floating too."

When Arthur said this, Xiao's face lit up with pride.
