"You find that amusing?" Audrey asked, her voice laced with a hint of accusation as she finally released his hand, turning to face him fully now that they were in a quieter corridor by the side of the hall.
Lake's smile faded, and he reached out to cup her face, his thumbs gently stroking her cheeks. "Amusing? No. I find it... karma." He leaned in, his voice a whisper, "Though, I suppose I should apologize for my brother's sudden infatuation. It seems the universe decided to prank him back."
