Luna refuses to take Skoll's hand. Raven had lied to her, she knew Skoll would do the same. She'd rather take her chances out here even though she could barely defend herself.
Skoll had offered Luna this chance only because she told him that Raven was the one that turned her.
Luna didn't exactly pick up on his exact wording right away, but when she did, she realized he didn't extend the same offer to the werewolves he had just freed.
There was only one way she was going to agree to go with him, and that was on her own terms.
"If I go with you, then I have a few demands." She says in a stern voice.
Skoll is a bit surprised. In his mind, an offer like this only comes once in a lifetime. However, he also knows how hard it is for people to leave the world they were born in.
"What are they?" Skoll asks in a monotone voice.
"First. Everyone here has to go too." She glances at Farkas who gives her an approving nod and a thumbs up. "Second. We can leave whenever we want. Third. I want to speak to this master of yours."
Skoll sighs knowing that he cannot promise anything. "You'll have to speak with him anyway. Only he can approve of your requests."
"And if he doesn't."
"Then you'll be sent back here. But I can only take you for now. The rest of them will have to find a place to hide in the meantime."
"We have nowhere to go." Farkas explains. "They found the escape tunnel. They've probably informed their superiors about it."
Farkas looks at Luna with a concerned expression. "Didn't he also say something about the city being destroyed?"
Luna thinks for a moment and realizes what Wenslo said right before he was killed. "That's right. We have to get out of here, but we don't have much time."
Skoll pays no attention to her worried expression and speaks in a calm voice. "I can't bring everyone back with me. However, I can drop them off in a safe place for now."
Luna objects, but Skoll is lost in his thoughts. 'Actually, it might be a bad idea if I bring her back as well. Father might get upset if I bring back a weakling like her. On the other hand, what if he doesn't. Maybe she has enough potential in her for him to see. If that's the case, father would be proud.'
Skoll couldn't make up his mind. His tendency to over think everything leads to delays in his missions. In this case, it had lead to a angry Luna.
"Are you listening to me?"
Luna's voice snaps Skoll put of his trance.
"No." Skoll speaks without remorse.
'I didn't think before I made her that offer.'
"I said I'll go. Just make sure everyone else is safe." Luna says.
Skoll thinks for a moment. 'Perhaps she could earn her way in. If Raven is still alive and Luna can become strong enough to save her, perhaps father will allow her in.'
"Alright. Just give me a moment to create the portal."
Before Skoll couldn't do anything. Someone chimes in other Wenslo's radio which is still attached to his corpse.
"It's time to get out. The bombs will be dropping in ten minutes."
'Bombs?' Skoll thinks for a second and stops creating the portal. He sighs before turning his attention back to Luna who is now scared at the thought of everyone dying.
"Don't worry." Skoll says with a little more emotion in his voice this time as if he cared slightly.
"What do you mean?" She asks as Skoll walks over to the middle of the compound and looks up at the sky.
Luna and Farkus exchange glances. Both of them are trying to understand what he's trying to do. Luna knows Skoll excepted her conditions, so the only thing she could think is that he was going to stop the bombs from killing everyone.
"We can't get everyone out of here in five minutes." Farkus points out.
"We don't have to." Luna retorts. "I think he's going to protect everyone from the bombing raid."
Farkus is shocked by her words and dismisses her comment. He doesn't think that's possible. Sure, he's seen this werewolf take out plenty of soldiers with ease. But no matter how strong someone is, there's no way they can protect people from something like that.
Skoll closes his eyes and concentrates. He can feel the energy swirling around him as he channels magic through the surrounding area.
'This is going to take more energy than I'd like to use. But that girl needs to save Raven no matter what. It'd be a shame if my most promising student were to die.' Even though Skoll said this to himself, deep in his mind, it was ingrained into him that those who cannot overcome adversity deserve to die.
'She weak enough to allow herself to be captured. If she dies, that's how it was destined to be. Would father change his mind if I was in the same situation?'
After a few minutes pass, sounds of planes could be heard flying overhead. Luna and Farkus began to panic. They both wondered how callous the Zadarians could be. Bombing the city with their own soldiers still here. Did they not care? Or did they think it was a necessary evil because they had got what they were after?
The planes were now overhead. And everyone could see bombs dropping from them. No one moved, everyone knew their fate was sealed. No matter what they did, they'd end up dead.
The few Zadarian soldiers left alive dropped their weapons and stared at them. Embracing the situation they found themselves in.
Skoll places his hand in his pockets seemingly for no other reason than to look cool. As the bombs drew closer, the entire area around them began to shake. The whole compound was engulfed in a blue tint of aura with the shape of a dome. Thousands of pieces of debris started floating in the air as if gravity itself was broken.
The bombs hit the dome and exploded. The hellish fire unable to penetrate the barrier and instead, forming a wall of fire around it as if it was being bent.
Everyone was shocked by this display of power. Luna knew Raven was strong, but how could someone from the same place be able to dwarf her power with ease?
'It's just as Raven said.' Luna thought. 'Magic is superior to human weapons. But I never thought something like this was possible.'
Farkus was having similar thoughts. Some people might be discouraged from seeing such a thing and how long it qould take to reach that milestone. But not him. Knowing thst he could obtain such power only fuelled his desire.
"Now then." Skoll shouts because of all the noise from the fire still going on. "Shall we get everyone to safety?"
