Chapter 20 - Raze part 1

Skoll takes a big sigh after Fala left the room. Luna sits on his bed and wonders why Fala would treat him like that. But she decides not to push the issue. She has more important things to worry about.

"So you don't have time to rescue Raven. But this Raze guy does?" Luna asks.

"Yeah. The three top ranks like me can't leave for too long. We're on call in case we are needed to deal with a situation the lower ranks can't."

"Like what?"

Skoll pauses for a moment to decide if he should tell her or not. If he does, it might distract her too much. And he can't have that happening right now.

She needs to focus on her growth and saving Raven. After that's done, he would bring her to the place where all new werewolves are trained to replace fallen wolf knights.

Where she is right now, is only reserved for those who who have become one. That's why he was worried about his father finding out she was here. There are strict rules he set in place for a reason. Especially the top three ranks leaving for too long when there is an emergency.

In the past, they needed to be called upon to resolve an issue only they could do. No one else was strong enough. Many innocent humans and wolves died when the three top ranked wolf knights were away doing their own thing and they couldn't be reached.

Communication devices could only transmit messages so far. Let alone through other dimensions. This place is special though. His father had used all his knowledge and spent many years creating a device that could recieve communications no matter where they were sent from.

He never did figure out how to inscribe spells on small objects like rings to allow such a thing.

"You don't need to worry about that right now. We need to contact Raze. As Fala explained, he might be willing to help you."

"You know what I don't get?" Luna asks. "It must take years to train someone to become a wolf knight. I can't think of a reason why your father would let talent like hers go to waste."

Skoll doesn't know either. Before he brought Luna here, he had sent a message to his father explaining that Raven had been captured. But he got no response back. He didn't think his father would save her himself. As far as Skoll knows. His father spends all of his time training. Never going out fighting anyone.

There was a time he remembered when his father wasn't a recluse. Something had changed him. But he couldn't figure out what it could have been.

"Let's discuss this later. I'll send a message to Raze and ask him to meet us. The longer we wait, the less chance we have to rescue Raven."

After contacting Raze, Skoll was a little annoyed with his cryptic message. Raze was always a strange person, so he didnt like talking to him very much. Then again, who wouldn't be strange when you live most of your life as an assassin.

Skoll nearly facepalms when he recieves a message back. Apparently, Raze was in the dimension where all the new recruits are to be sent to. In the end, Skoll didn't need to bring Luna here and risk her being found out. Then again, Raze wasn't usually there.

Then again, he didn't think to ask Raze to help, nor did he even think of a decent plan.

Skoll turns to Luna to tell her they are about to leave, when he sees her laying on his bed. Ruffling up the blankets and pillows. Luna had never felt a bed so soft in her life. She wanted to fall asleep on it despite knowing what little time she had.

"What do you think you're doing?" Skoll says while standing over her. Peering down with his sharp eyes.

He can't help but to feel sorry for her. Seeing her like this shows him how terrible it had been for Luna. A simple bed is enough for her to feel as if she's in heaven.

In the end. He decided to let it go despite his frustration of a stranger using his bed without his consent. Then again, it has been a while since he's had an attractive woman in his bed.

He shakes his head trying to get rid of the thought. She's an adult, but the age gap between them is still massive. Living for so long without aging is a curse and a blessing.

'Get a hold of yourself.' Skoll inwardly curses himself when he catches his eyes glaring at her slim figure. 'What the fuck is wrong with me? I'm supposed to be helping her save Raven. I can't think about this stuff right now.'

Luna is curled up into a ball facing away from Skoll. However, when Skolled asked her that question, she turned her head slightly to look at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Just a few more minutes. It's the first time I've felt something this comfortable." She says as she feels the softness of the pillow under her head.

Skoll clenches his fists as he tries to find a way to get her out of his bed. All this teasing is pushing him to the edge.

"I can't believe you're relaxing at a time like this. While Raven is probably being tortured by humans. God knows what kind of pain she's in."

"Fuck. You're right. What was I thinking?" She quickly gets off the bed and straightens her clothes. "Let's go. There no time to lose."

Skoll restrains himself from faceplaming and opens a rift to where they need to go.

Once on the other side, they find themselves in an almost pitch black room with foreign decorations with a language that Luna had never seen before.

The fur on the back of Skolls neck stands up as he senses the danger. Someone is watching them from the shadows. His eyes dart back and forth trying to find whoever is watching them. Even though he can see in the dark, this foe is a master of the shadows. This is his domain, and they are trespassing.

'Do we really have to do this everytime?' Skoll asks himself. 'This guy scares me with his dedication. Always looking for a challenge no matter who or where he is.'

Luna doesn't know what's happening. Seeeing how alert Skoll is, she does the same and watches for anything dangerous.

She wants to ask Skoll what he is wary of, but she doesn't want to give away their position. An overwhelming sense of dread hits her. She can feel her heart pounding in her chest. Her adrenaline rushing throughout her body.

Her body betrays her, telling her to run. Whatever she is sensing, it's far stronger than anything she had faced before.

Her legs start shaking. She can sense the bloodlust of the thing hunting them.

Just then, an attack comes put of nowhere aimed at Skoll. A dark cloaked figure thst seems to fly through the air trying to pierce Skoll through the chest with its bare hands.
