Chapter 5 - The Reset Floor

The moment Shiddharth vanished from the hospital bed, the room fell into stunned silence.

His disciples stood frozen, staring at the empty space where his body had been just seconds ago. For a brief moment, none of them could even process what had happened.

No one had ever imagined such a thing.

Awakening… at the very edge of death.

Jun Si was the first to regain his senses. His expression shifted instantly from shock to urgency.

"Sui," he said sharply, turning toward her. "Contact the hunters inside the Tower. If Master has awakened, then he must have appeared on the First Floor."

"Yes, sir," Sui replied immediately.

Her hands trembled slightly as she opened her system interface. She accessed the Tower's community network and quickly contacted someone stationed on the First Floor. Every second felt unbearably long.

When the reply finally came, her breath caught.

Her face drained of color.

"What happened, Sui?" Jun Si asked, already sensing something was wrong.

She swallowed hard, her voice breaking. "Master… Master was on the First Floor… but…" Her fists clenched. "…he's dead."

The words felt unreal even as she spoke them.

"He… turned into dust."

For a moment, neither of them spoke. The hope that had ignited so suddenly was extinguished just as cruelly.

Then—

A massive message appeared before their eyes.

[ Tower's System is being Reset ]

[ All activities in the Tower will be paused for 1 hour ]

[ All hunters will be transferred to the Safe Zone ]

[ Hunters are not allowed to move out from the Safe Zone ]

[ Tower will compensate for this inopportune ]

Shock rippled through everyone who saw the announcement.

A Tower reset.

Something that should have been impossible.

The Tower had always been absolute—perfect, eternal, unquestionable. The idea that it could suffer a malfunction shook the very foundation of their beliefs.

Meanwhile…

In a place no hunter should ever see.

As Shiddharth vanished from the First Floor, consciousness returned to him slowly. He felt an unbearable weight pressing against his body. His senses were dull, his thoughts sluggish.

When he managed to open his eyes, what he saw made his blood run cold.

He was lying atop another body.

No—bodies.

As he struggled to turn his head, his vision widened, revealing a vast field covered in corpses. Hunters. Monsters. Broken weapons. Torn armor. Death stretched endlessly in every direction.

Above the field, hanging unnaturally in the sky, was a massive clock.

At its center was a single word.

RESET.

The clock's lone hand rotated slowly, each tick echoing like a countdown to something unknown.

Shiddharth tried to move.

Pain flared through his body. His limbs refused to respond. Even breathing felt like a struggle. Panic crept into his chest as he realized he was completely helpless.

Then a familiar system message appeared before his eyes.

[ A survivor is detected in Reset Area ]

[ Kindly send back the hunter to the First Floor ]

Relief washed over him.

I can be saved…

If I reach the First Floor, someone might help me…

But nothing happened.

Seconds passed.

Then new messages appeared.

[ No response is given by Office ]

[ Tower is taking action on its own ]

[ Tower sends the survivor to the First Floor ]

Hope surged through him—

Only to be crushed instantly.

[ Error ]

[ Error ]

[ Due to the system reset process, Tower couldn't interfere in system ]

The messages flickered erratically, as if the Tower itself was struggling.

[ Tower sends the survivor to the First Floor ]

[ Error ]

[ Error ]

Shiddharth's heart pounded.

Then the messages changed.

[ Tower will resurrect the survivor body ]

[ Tower will resurrect the survivor body ]

[ Resurrection process is taking place ]

[ Body will be resurrected to the awakening age ]

[ Body has been resurrected to awakening age 18 years ]

Before he could react, a blinding crimson light engulfed him.

Pain unlike anything he had ever experienced tore through his body.

It felt as if every cell was being destroyed and rebuilt simultaneously. His bones shattered and reformed. His flesh burned, peeled away, and regenerated. His mind screamed, then went completely blank.

It was hell.

When the pain finally subsided, Shiddharth collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath.

Slowly, trembling, he lifted his hands.

They were young.

Strong.

Unscarred.

He looked down at his body—and froze.

It was his eighteen-year-old self.

For a moment, his mind went blank.

Then reality hit him.

The corpses.

The stench of blood and decay.

This was the first time Shiddharth had ever seen death inside the Tower. His stomach twisted violently. He turned away and vomited, his body shaking uncontrollably.

After a few moments, he forced himself to calm down.

Panicking won't help.

He wiped his mouth, steadying his breath as his gaze hardened.

This place was dangerous. Unknown. Broken.

But he was alive.

And now… he needed to find a way out.

But there was no door nor were the portal as to move in different floors of tower. So he roamed all over the floor. But he couldn't find anything except the dead bodies of hunter and monster and after full days of searching the floor he finally sits over a body of Org.

[ The floor will be rested]

[ All the bodies will be burned by Dragon Breath]

Then a dragon comes in the floor from a portal and releases the Dragon Breath. The hellish fire released by Breath burned everything around it including Shiddharth. He was not even given time to think what was a higher level Dragon doing here.
