In the second month after returning to Rosemont, Kendall began receiving phone calls from former comrades-in-arms, one after another.
Sharon was one of them.
They used to serve together as female soldiers in the Special Forces and hadn't seen each other in over a year.
Interestingly, this was actually the first phone call they had ever shared.
Before this, they had no call history. One was rigid and the other quiet, so they barely communicated, even when they were in the same unit.
After the call connected, Sharon got straight to the point:
"Hello, is this Kendall?"
Sharon had gotten Kendall's number from someone else and wasn't entirely sure it was hers.
"It's me. Is that you, Sharon?" Kendall recognized her voice right away.
Although they hadn't spent much time together, Sharon's distinct personality had left a strong impression on her.
