Devendra landed on the console beside him, his face twisted in a desperate, final fury.
"This is my city, Rathod!" Devendra shrieked, driving his shadow blade toward Vikram's chest. "I built this network! I brought the order!"
Vikram didn't dodge. He grabbed Devendra's wrist with his left hand, the freezing shadow blade stopping inches from his heart. The cold from the weapon began to freeze his hand, but Vikram ignored the pain.
He looked Devendra in the eyes.
"You didn't build this city, Malhotra," Vikram said, his voice calm. "The people did. And they don't want your order."
With a sudden, powerful movement, Vikram pulled Devendra forward, throwing him into the magnetic casing of the reactor. The high-voltage current surged through Devendra's body, his cables sparking violently as the magnetic field trapped him against the Core.
Devendra screamed, his body vibrating under the force of the reactor.
Vikram turned to the primary capacitor, a giant copper sphere in the center of the console. The sphere was glowing red, ready to release the final activation wave.
He raised his fist.
