Huo Beijiang stared into Nan Fei's lifeless eyes and felt as though his heart was being torn apart. Step by step, he approached her, watching as her body instinctively retreated, and his eyes gradually grew moist.
"Nan Fei!" Huo Beijiang pressed his lips together, summoning all his strength just to call out those two words.
Nan Fei clenched her right hand tightly, trying to force herself to calm down. She was already in such a pathetic state—she mustn't lose the last shred of dignity she had left. So, turning toward the direction of his voice, she curled her lips into a fragile smile and pretended as though nothing had happened, saying lightly, "I'm already leaving—why did you come chasing after me?"
Huo Beijiang could no longer restrain himself. He opened the car door, stretched out his arms, and pulled her tightly into his embrace.
