Hermione's teeth were chattering the closer they got home. Despite brief time spent at Ministry, the suffocating atmosphere of Courtroom Ten did nothing overall to warm her up.
She didn't hear a complaint from Lucifer behind her about the bitter, freezing cold, so she stubbornly wasn't going to open her mouth either. She figured if boyfriend could effortlessly tough it out with physical discomfort, she could certainly manage to do it too, even if her inner voice was seriously despising herself for deciding on such a ridiculous, walking plan across the park paths in the first place.
The moment her familiar home came into clear sight over the hedges, Hermione rapidly sped up her stride, disregarding the numbing wind.
Her desperate desire to get inside near a warm crackling fire, and to cuddle up close with her boyfriend to greedily share his warmth, completely overrode any residual numbness her lower body may have wanted to feel in the drifts.
She had let go of Lucifer's long hand without even consciously realizing it, stepping onto the front porch and beginning to vigorously shake off the thick, clinging layers of white snow from her coat and winter boots as best she could.
She pushed open the front door, letting out a loud shiver. "Mum, we're b-b-back!" Hermione hollered into the strangely empty feeling house.
The immediate appearance of her mother stepping into the hallway proved the property wasn't deserted, though. "Oh, Hermione, thank goodness! Where did you both vanish to?!"
"W-Well, we—" Hermione started, her voice shaking, but Lucifer stepped past her shoulder, choosing to invent a clean cover story to explain the timeline.
"We managed to find a good place in the park that was secluded from the public view," Lucifer explained, his tone casual and level to the girl's wide horror, "We sat down on a bench and chatted for quite a while to clear our heads, and then we..." he trailed off, his mouth suddenly going slightly dry after the wording, realizing how the description sounded to a parent's ear.
He cast a slightly helpless look over toward the bushy-haired girl beside him. Jane Granger slowly cocked a sharp, knowing eyebrow at the couple. She lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper, smirk breaking across her face, "Secluded from public view, you say? And then you two went ahead and fucked right out in the bushes?"
"Mum!" Hermione screamed, her entire face instantly turning as she clutched her burning cheeks. She felt so profoundly, embarrassed that she literally thought she would die on the spot right in front of her boyfriend.
"Well, regardless of the details, I'm just glad you both are back," Jane chuckled softly, thoroughly enjoying her daughter's panic, "Mark went out about ten minutes ago, saying he desperately had to go grab something from street before the shops close for tomorrow, and I urgently need you both to help me... specifically with moving his present behind the tree without him knowing it's back there before the morning light," she asked the two teens, gesturing toward the sitting room.
"Of course, Mum," Hermione agreed rapidly, desperate for any excuse to change the topic. She reached out and firmly pulled Lucifer's scarlet arm, "Come on, we should quickly get straight out of these damp layers and change into some dry clothes first."
"Gladly, pet," Lucifer murmured, following her steps up the carpeted stairs to the narrow split between their separate rooms.

They separated into their respective quarters, and each changed out of their freezing school uniforms into comfortable, dry loungewear. Lucifer, possessing a vastly superior speed, got finished with wardrobe adjustments first. He walked back out into quiet hallway, intending to head straight downstairs, when he noticed that Hermione's bedroom door was slightly cracked open by a few inches.
His curiosity flaring, he decided to take a brief, silent peek through the gap. Stepping silently right next to the edge of Hermione's door frame and peering inside the room allowed his vision to see that she was currently standing right next to her wooden closet, completely topless.
Her bushy head was pointed down, and he realized that she was intently examining her own changing silhouette in the mirror.
Her breasts had expanded to large, groping measurement of more than an HH-cup by now due to the magical and physical parameters of their relationship. Lucifer watched her carefully fondling her own heavy tits, letting out a series of soft, incredibly cute noises under her breath as she judged the development.
He didn't know what the biological or emotional reason was for her doing that mirror self examination right now, and he wasn't about to stick around to ask, because his gentlemanly pride was not going to let her discover that he had been secretly spying.
What his body 'did' know with certainty was that his pajama bottoms and cotton underwear suddenly felt miles tighter and more constricted against his groin than they had prior. He forcefully pulled away from the door crack, turned on his heel, and walked away down the hall, closing his eyes tight as he took a deep breath to try and calm his racing, lustful desires down.
Lucifer wanted to feel guilt for spying on his beautiful girlfriend, but truth be told to his own, he wasn't sorry about catching the view at all. He reopened eyes when he heard the door to Hermione's room let out a soft creak behind his back.
He turned his body around and saw her closing the oak door to her room, dressed in soft, loose winter night clothes. When Hermione turned her face to look at him, quickly averted his pupils from her direct gaze, clearing his throat.
"You... you okay over there?"
"Yeah, of course I am..." Lucifer said lamely, his voice tight.
There was no way she would believe his facade, and knew it instantly. Hermione just fixed her eyes on his jaw for a long, quiet second, frowning the flush on his neck. "Are you sure about that, sir?"
Lucifer cleared his throat a second time, then looked straight into her eyes, "Nope, not at all."
"Do you want to sit down and talk about what's bothering you?" She asked softly, taking a step closer across the carpeted hallway.
"No, not right now, pet. We've got something highly important for your mother first," Lucifer said, cursing his own internal hesitation for avoiding the sensual topic.
"Okay then, let's go downstairs and help Mum with the tree," Hermione said with a smile. She reached out, securely grabbed his long hand, and led back toward where her mother was waiting with the boxes.

It was eleven fifty-one at night, the clock preparing to turn over to the next day, which would officially mark the calendar for Christmas Day.
Lucifer unable to sleep a wink due to the chaotic visions of his Boggart and trial looping through mind, was sitting alone in the dark, main living room. He was slouched back into a comfy armchair, staring fixedly at the massive Christmas tree and all the glittering 'fairy' lights that he had helped her wrap around the pine branches when they first arrived, he had wanted to conjure up Yeti's to roam around the Granger residence, but halted due to Mark's presence.
He had fallen into a trance-like state under the slow blinking of the green and red bulbs.
The anticipation of the upcoming morning gave his chest a strange, uneasy feeling. He knew with certainty that Hermione would love the custom magical book he had written for her studies, but he would be forced to give her the traditional, expensive ring gift right in front of Mark's eyes.
He was sure that second, pure-blood rubies glinted in the morning light, the stock market gambler would aggressively want to know price of the jewelry.
Lucifer wasn't particularly keen on what specific lines to say to appease the man's curiosity. He would simply have to invent a plausible assumption to clear the air. If Hermione asked for the true finance later, he would tell her the truth, but strictly only if she asked him directly.
He looked up at the grandfather clock on the wall; the dials read eleven fifty-four.
Suddenly, he heard a soft, rustling movement to his right, and his head turned to see Hermione walking tiptoed into the living room.
Her loose cotton night clothes were hanging a bit loosely across her silhouette, her bare feet stepping silently onto the rug.
"Lucifer...?"
She spoke his name softly, her voice carrying a rich vibration that wasn't tired in the slightest; she had clearly been wide awake inside her sheets for a little while. "Is everything okay with you?"
"It is right now, pet," he said softly, eyes watching her approach.
"So romantic, aren't you?" She said, and even in dim light, he could clearly hear the smirk written into her tone, "But what were you thinking about before I arrived in the room?"
Hermione asked, walking straight up to the armchair and sitting down comfortably on the padded arm right beside his shoulder.
"I was just... lost in thought..." Lucifer said, his eyes shifting back toward a glittering silver bell hanging on a low branch.
"What exactly?" She murmured, and placed her small, warm hand flat over his shoulder, fingers rubbing in slow, soothing circles across blade to ease his tension. Then, with a sudden, fluid shift in movement, she slid off the arm and began to fully straddle his lap, her knees covering his thighs as she placed both of her hands over, "How about we start the holidays with a bit of snogging, Mr. Morningstar?"
Before Lucifer could even form a syllable of an answer, Hermione placed her soft lips passionately straight upon his own, pressing her entire warm body as close against his chest as she humanly could.
She let out a low moan directly into his mouth as her hips involuntarily, sensually grinded against his lap. The sudden friction caused Hermione to instantly feel a hard bulge rising up against her thighs under his pajamas.
She slowly pulled her face back from his mouth, breathing heavy as her amber orbits darkened with a sudden, intense lust. His eyes were staring straight up into her face, filled with desire, "You are playing a dangerous game right now, pet," he growled lowly.
"I—I'm so sorry, Lucifer... I just got caught up in physical moment and caused... w-well..." Hermione looked down at his collar, her face flushing,"I truly didn't mean to turn you on 'that' hard tonight. But it has been long days since I got to suck your cock. I know you decided to not do anything reckless while we are staying under Mum's roof, but I simply missed having you inside my pussy."
"...That's not something you ever need to apologize for to me, pet," Lucifer said, his fingers reaching up to catch her chin, forcing her to look straight back into eyes.
Hermione's entire face heated to a violent burn from his words. Oh, how badly she wanted to give in to her lustful desires right now, but her logic reminded her that she did not want to get caught by her mother and make another scandalous scene at home.
She did not want to face being loudly reprimanded by her family, especially right in front of Lucifer's presence, like a common two-year-old child.
So, Hermione decided to force her muffy to be patient, even though the intense temptation to not wait for the holiday bed was clawing at her stomach. She glanced over her shoulder at clock dials, before looking back down into his face with a brilliant smile. "Happy Christmas, Daddy," she whispered, leaning down to kiss his lips a final time.
The clock hands had just switched over to twelve o'one.
When they finally separated their lips, he looked deep into her left eye, his voice calm, "Merry Christmas, Hermione. I actually managed to get a special present for your studies that I can't give in front of Mark tomorrow morning. Do you want me to go ahead and fetch it for you now?"
Hermione slid off his lap, standing up on the rug, "If you want to present it now, sure."
Lucifer stood up when her spot was clear, walking across the dark hallway to guest room. He reached into his infinite robe pouch, pulling out the leather-bound volume he had labored over. He carried the text back into the main sitting room, where she had already taken a comfortable seat on the floor rug right in front of his armchair.
"The carpet is nice and warm from how long you were sitting here," Hermione said, her eyes glowing through the dark much in the same way his had searched hers, "Oh, look--a book! What did you manage to find for me this year?" she asked eagerly, her fingers reaching out.
"Well, it's a special book, one that I wrote and charmed strictly for you," Lucifer said, lowering his body down directly in front of her knees. She slid off her heels to sit cross-legged with him by the blinking lights.
"I vividly remember that last year during our terms, you complained endlessly about inaccuracies and omissions found inside the standard copies of 'Hogwarts: A History... so I went ahead and wrote my own updated edition, and charmed the pages."
"Charmed the pages? How did you do magic on historical text?" she asked, her brow furrowing in confusion.
"It's a piece of family magic I pulled from libraries," Lucifer explained, handing the leather-bound volume over to her fingers. He chose to hide the fact that he had technically utilized spatial duplication techniques he had taken from his wife Evelyn Greengrass's, when she handed over the Nott family's private, restricted specialties.
"Hogwarts: The Complete History? You actually went ahead and changed the title of the book too?" Hermione stared down at embossed silver lettering on cove, "And it has your own name listed as the official Author..."
She began to skim through the thick parchment pages, her intelligent eyes finding an immediate data difference within the first few chapters. "The House-Elf registry number listed here... it's significantly lower than what Nearly Headless Nick always claimed it was during our Sorting dinner."
"And that ghost's claim was from a date before he was even physically born, pet. The text lists the year 1137 in the ledger, right?" he asked her with a smirk.
"Yeah... but it explicitly states right here that House-Elves were utilized since very start of Hogwarts' initial founding... and the total population was only about twenty across the kitchens then..." She said softly, her fingers tracing the ink.
"Skip straight down to the 1991–92 ledger," he informed her smoothly.
Hermione did as instructed, her eyes widening as she read the detailed, unedited accounts about Harry Potter successfully saving the 'Philosopher's Stone' from Professor Quirrell, who had Voldemort's parasitic face attached to the back of his head.
The text also listed of Lucifer destroying the enchanted game of giant Chess, her own brilliant work getting through Snape's logic potion puzzle, and how he also independently took out an adult Manticore in the hallway.
She then flipped the pages to the next school year, reading the account of the Chamber of Secrets event, where Lucifer had killed the ancient Basilisk with the Sword of Gryffindor, and Harry had destroyed Tom Riddle's diary with a Basilisk's fang.
The subsequent chapter detailed the arrival of the Dementors during their third year, Lucifer and Harry successfully mastering the Patronus Charm, Gryffindor cleanly winning the Quidditch Cup, and Lucifer successfully casting a Corporeal Patronus that exiled a hundred Dementors straight into purgatory by the lake shore.
Then came the entries for last year's Triwizard Tournament, detailing Harry being forcefully put into the selection by Barty Crouch Jr, and worst of all, Cedric Diggory's death at the hands of Peter Pettigrew under Voldemort's direct order, alongside the physical return of the Dark Lord. She noticed with academic satisfaction that every typo and historical error 'Bathilda Bagshot' had made in the original text had been corrected in this print.
It even hosted a fresh, bound section for their current fifth year, detailing Dolores Umbridge becoming the 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' professor, her appointment as High Inquisitor, and the secret formation of the D.A. club.
She looked up from the parchment, her eyes flashing with awe as she stared at her boyfriend, "Does this magic... does it actually update in real time, Lucifer?"
"It does," Lucifer said, nodding his head proudly, "Every event that occurs inside the walls of Hogwarts that holds even a mild historical significance will automatically materialize on those pages. I believe the layout of the 'Deathday Party' from our Second Year is logged in there, and it even recorded the two of us sneaking into our private quarters at night. I'm not sure why the Sentinel magic deemed that... intimate data significant, but this is the single copy of the book that exists, and the only one that will ever do. This is 'your' book, Hermione, no one else's."
Hermione felt her entire soul touch by the depth of the gift, and hot tears of genuine happiness began to well up in her eyes. "This is wonderful, the best, most meaningful gift I have ever received for Christmas in my entire life... thank you so much, Daddy."
"Merry Christmas, girl," Lucifer smiled warmly at her, and she leaned forward to return the look with devotion.
