The crowd on both sides of the red carpet erupted in deafening cheers. Lin Feng quickly averted his gaze from the wealthy young heirs walking by and turned toward the exit of the tent by the red carpet. Finally, the celebrity they had been eagerly waiting for—Matthew Horner—made his appearance.
"Matthew is really handsome!" remarked someone standing next to Lin Feng. "Aside from young Leonardo DiCaprio, there's no one more handsome in Hollywood!"
Lin Feng couldn't help but chime in, "Leonardo's looks have faded. Right now, Matthew is the most handsome in Hollywood!"
The man nodded in agreement. "You're absolutely right!"
Under the protection of a bodyguard in a black suit, Matthew Horner walked closer, waving and smiling at the crowd. His smile was brighter than the sun that had been shining all day.
Watching the girls on the opposite side go wild, Lin Feng couldn't help but think, "Being a handsome guy like Matthew Horner must be nice!"
The bespectacled guy from earlier suddenly exclaimed, "How can a man be this handsome?!"
Finally, Matthew reached the other side of the red carpet and began signing autographs for the fans. The atmosphere reached a fever pitch. What stood out to Lin Feng wasn't just the autographs but the fan barriers. One side of the barriers was supported by iron stands, but when fans saw a celebrity coming to sign, they surged forward recklessly.
Due to some advertising boards obstructing the view, it was inconvenient for the celebrities to sign autographs on Lin Feng's side. He didn't bother trying to get an autograph and instead pulled out his phone to snap photos of Matthew Horner and the ecstatic fans on the other side.
After taking a few pictures, Lin Feng realized something was off.
The scene across from him was pure chaos.
He could even read the expressions in the fans' eyes.
The female fans, faced with the incredibly charismatic superstar, likely had just one thought: Oh my god! Please look at me! Look at me!
Amidst the sea of screaming girls, there was a bespectacled guy who looked overwhelmed by the situation. He probably thought to himself: I'm so naive. I thought I could push through this crowd of women, forgetting that their strength increases tenfold in the presence of a tall, rich, and handsome man.
Then there was Matthew's bodyguard, whose expression could be summed up as utter despair: How am I supposed to protect him in this mess?!
As these thoughts flashed through Lin Feng's mind, he kept snapping pictures. After a while, he switched to video mode, capturing footage of Matthew and the frenzied fans.
He secretly wished he could join in the chaos but hadn't managed to secure a good spot.
Next time Matthew Horner comes for a premiere, I'm camping out a whole day in advance!
As Lin Feng mused over his plan, the scene changed again.
Matthew was enthusiastically signing autographs, lingering a bit too long, causing more and more fans to rush toward him—especially the girls, who were acting like they were competing for free vouchers outside a supermarket.
It looked like the situation was getting a little out of control.
As the crowd pressed in, Matthew's bodyguard whispered something in his ear, likely warning him about the growing chaos.
At that moment, a female fan suddenly reached out and touched Matthew's arm.
The bodyguard immediately went on high alert. When more fans started reaching for Matthew, he grabbed the actor, trying to pull him away. But Matthew…
Lin Feng widened his eyes in disbelief—despite being tugged by the bodyguard, Matthew kept signing autographs for the fans.
The bodyguard grew more anxious, holding onto Matthew's arm and seemingly trying to convince him to leave.
Yet Matthew's hand didn't stop moving.
It wasn't just Lin Feng—everyone around was left speechless by the display. Matthew's professionalism and character were clear from this moment, leaving no room for doubt.
No matter what, whether facing the crowd or dealing with his protective bodyguard, he refused to leave without signing autographs for the fans.
A star with such dedication was rare these days. Not even his bodyguards could hold him back…
Lin Feng imagined that Matthew's internal monologue might be something like: Don't pull me! I want to sign autographs! I've come all this way—let me sign! Let me go; I can sign one more!
Finally, the police intervened, stopping Matthew. As Lin Feng watched Matthew reluctantly walk toward the theater and saw the fans' disappointed faces, he slowly put down his phone, saving the precious video he had just recorded.
In the end, all of this came down to Matthew's immense popularity and strong fan base. Thinking back to when he was in high school, Lin Feng remembered that there had been plenty of Matthew fans even then.
Lin Feng knew that in his admiration for Matthew Horner, he wasn't alone.
As Matthew walked further down the red carpet, Lin Feng's excitement began to subside, though his mind continued to buzz with thoughts about this unique man who had so many layers and stories to tell.
Even though Matthew had walked the red carpet, the excitement wasn't over.
The stars gathered for a group photo in front of a massive backdrop, facing hundreds of photographers from around the world. The spectacle was no less grand than any major international film festival.
"We should head inside the theater," said someone nearby. "We're the lucky few who get to see this movie before anyone else in the world!"
Lin Feng and the bespectacled man, both holding tickets for the evening's screening, followed the crowd toward the theater entrance.
This was the global premiere of Fast & Furious 4, giving them a chance to see the film ahead of audiences anywhere else.
After the group photos, the cast and crew moved to the interview zone in front of the theater to talk with the media.
Matthew and David Ellison, as the film's investors, stood together.
"Why did you invest in this film?" a reporter asked David Ellison.
David, showing the maturity he had developed over the past few years, responded, "I've always loved movies. Whether you want to understand today's world or imagine the future, you look to movies. It's the most direct way to connect with young people."
The reporter then asked, "Mr. Ellison, how many Fast & Furious movies do you plan to make?"
David answered candidly, "Matthew and I have planned a trilogy. I hope the Fast & Furious series will continue through a seventh, eighth, or even more films."
Nearby, Matthew was also being interviewed.
A reporter from a movie channel posed a highbrow question, "Mr. Horner, what do you think is the most important aspect of a film?"
This time, Matthew didn't give a lofty answer. Instead, he kept it simple and grounded.
"The audience is the most important part of a film! Especially with a movie like Fast & Furious 4, which is made for the masses. That's why I always emphasize the audience's importance during production."
Feeling that wasn't enough, Matthew added, "I've built a trust with my audience over the years. I would never let them leave the theater unhappy. Some films may have brilliant endings where a protagonist dies, making for a great story, but for this film, I want people to leave feeling good. That's what I care about the most. So, before filming, I talked with the whole crew, and we all agreed—the audience's happiness is what matters most."
Perhaps influenced by Matthew's words or realizing the previous questions were too stiff, the reporter finally asked something more interesting.
"I did some research," the reporter said. "It seems like Matthew Horner can't be just one person, because no one could possibly juggle so many tasks and still stay in shape."
Before Matthew could respond, David Ellison chimed in, followed by a translator.
"I had someone translate your question for me," David said, looking at the reporter. "Mind if I answer that?"
The reporter, evidently fluent in English, replied, "Go ahead."
David pointed at Matthew and said, "He can do ten things at once—talk about one project, work on another film, act in a third, promote a fourth, prepare the script for the next one, and review scripts for a film two years down the road."
At that moment, David turned into Matthew's biggest cheerleader. "He works fifteen hours a day, still finds time to chat with fans, take photos, and spend time with them. His fans love that, and he cares about what they want. I believe this guy is actually seven people, and each one is one of the hardest-working, most professional people in Hollywood."
After the interviews, Matthew and David headed into the theater. Matthew soon found himself alone as people approached to greet him.
After exchanging pleasantries with a well-known investor, Matthew spotted Gal Gadot entering the theater and decided to walk with her toward the screening hall.
"It's been so busy these last few days," Matthew said as they walked. "I haven't had the chance to ask—what have you been up to this past year?"
Gal Gadot smiled. "I've been staying in Israel."
"What's been keeping you busy?" Matthew asked casually.
"I moved to Tel Aviv," Gal admitted. "There's been so much to deal with for the new house."
"A new home?" Matthew thought for a moment and then suggested, "You should invite the crew over to celebrate. We're like a family."
Gal Gadot glanced at him with a smile. "I do love this family."
They didn't dwell on the topic further as they entered the screening hall, where the first public showing of Fast & Furious 4 was about to begin.
