The very moment I didn't hear a heartbeat, I felt my heart go weak.
Lying down on the shores of river was the future Queen of the wolves.
Dead.
Her red hair sprayed over her head.
The blood that had flowed, finally stopped.
Her skin was white and she looked as pale as death.
I sat beside her body, dazed.
Wondering what I was going to do.
I was in so much more trouble now.
Now there was nothing I could tell anyone that would make them believe me.
I began to tremble frantically as my mind raced for a solution.
And the one came to mind.
The Death song.
I swallowed hard.
I had never sung it before but I knew everything I needed to about the song.
It was the one gift Siren's had.
The one thing people had haunted us over.
The ability to bring the dead back to life.
But at the expense of their own lives.
Most sirens who tried it, died.
The power too strong for them to even handle.
