Alex drove home but he didn't reach her house he was a little distance away
"I will pick you up tomorrow ok. Here is my number, I will call you when I get home", Alex said after exchanging phone numbers. He helped her open the car door
"Alright", what a gentleman , Claire thought smiling at her stupid yet true thought
"What are you smiling at sweet pea?". Claire blushed again, he called her sweet pea .
Alex chuckled," it's like you love it when I call you that", Claire nodded as if in a trance. This is the first time she has heard his laughter
"Then I will call you that from now on ok"
Claire came back to her senses," thanks for the ride", she muttered blushing so hard. She ran away giggling .
Alex laughed a little such a cute temptress he just shook his head . Suddenly he felt eyes on him, he turned and saw Claire hugging her mother
"Hmmm ..", he hummed, turned entered his car and left .
" Mom you are back" , Claire hugged her mom
"Yes baby. How are you doing ?, you seem happy today any good thing happened?", her mom asked wiggling her eyebrows like some teenage girl eager to gossip .
Claire blushed harder remembering Alex,
"mom stop it, lets go in first" , she said entering the house .
"Wow you are blushing ,it's a boy", her mom said with an I already know it all looks
Claire smiled and nodded
"Alright that's a first, tell me about this boy"
" Well ..." ,
'don't tell her ', she suddenly heard that tiny voice again this time a little loud . Claire just ignored it
"He is handsome, and I just met him but I feel.... "
' don't say it , don't tell her ' this time the voice came a little forcefully. Claire creased her brows a little. If she had looked at her mom she would have noticed the eager yet maniac look on her face.
Claire decided to listen to the voice
" You feel what?, go on baby tell mommy what you feel ", the way she said that last part kinda creeped Claire out
"I feel he is a kind person that's all" , she shrugged .
" That's all you feel , no other emotions or even dependent in him ?, come on check and tell me "
' How does she know what I am feeling' Claire thought now looking at her mom in a strange light.
Claire's mom noticed the way she was looking at her, has she blown her cover?, no way .
"I am Just curious that's all", she decided to change the topic, " is it the boy that dropped you off ?"
Claire still weirded out a little forgot about it immediately she talked about Alex .
"Yes that's him. Mom let me rush upstairs and freshen up I will be down in a bit ".
" Ok umm... ,Baby can you give mommy that book again let me see it ?", she asked as Claire was climbing the stairs
"I ... ",She wanted to explain how she gave the book to Alex and remembered the way Alex reacted knowing he showed the book to her mom, and how her mom is reacting. She decided not to give full details
"I returned it to the school library. Why, what happened?",
" Well nothing just wanted to see the book again. I was just worried about you thats all, can't I do that anymore ?"
" Mom you know I didn't mean it that way, you can always get worried about me but just not too much it's bad for your health. Ok I will go up and take my bath now" , she said rushing upstairs
'It's good if she has returned it to the library I can ...',she thought going back to her room to change her clothes .
Just as Claire finished taking her bath her phone rang she checked it , it was an unknown caller. She picked it
"Hey sweet pea" , she heard his voice and her calm heart started beating fast
" Hi ", her voice so tiny
"What are you doing", Alex smiled hearing her cute voice. He could already imagine her blushing face
" I just got out of the bathroom, I was about dressing up before you called ", she didn't know why she told him but a part of her felt like doing so.
She might as Well stop questioning her sanity and just go with the flow .
