When they reached the school , Alex and Claire came down after packing the car all eyes were on them especially Claire . Claire tends to hide away whenever she is in the limelight but at that moment with Alex she felt like she needed the attention to show all the girls that Alex is already taken. She tipped her jaw up a little looking like a proud rabbit that won the heart of the big bad wolf . Alex noticed the subtle movement and just smiled.
Everyone was looking at them each group discussing and just like that the news about Claire coming to school with Alex flew.
"I will be going to class now", Claire said She walked up to Alex her heart was beating in her chest for what she was about to do she pecked him.
Alex stiffened , he raised an eyebrow, Claire blushed and left . Alex nearly smiled like a fool.
Claire went into the school as she was walking through the hallway all eyes were on her discussing, she just walked pass as if she was walking through a daily phase of her life .
Cleo saw Claire walk in ,and ran to her .
"Claire you didn't tell me about you and Alex ", she said giving Claire the 'are you keeping secrets from me now' look
"Cleo ?, how did you hear about it ", Claire asked the obvious.
" The whole school is talking about it. How can I be among the people to hear it last".
"I'm sorry Cleo but there was nothing to tell , we are not even a thing yet . There Is nothing going on between us".
" Yet ?! , you said yet that means there is still something about to go on, and you can't seriously expect me to believe that there is nothing going on . I heard about the cafeteria incident, him helping you and even the fact he drove you home , You don't know how news fly in the school".
Claire looked at her so called best friend, "so you knew something happened to me at the cafeteria, you didn't even say to have the little decency to call me to check up on me ?"
The question stunned Cleo , she forgot how to speak .
" I...I..I wanted to check up on you ", she stammered
"Huh ", she nodded knowing well how so not true what she said was.
" Then what happened , why didn't you ?", claire went on with her .
"You already left with Alex by the time I heard it . I am sorry", she apologized looking so apologetic .
"It's okay" , Claire just smiled a little.
"Come on let's go to class I have gist for you" , Cleo said crossing hands with Claire, dragging her as she told her the gist along the way.
"You mean Bryan asked you out for valentine's day", claire asked looking at Cleo smiling
"Yes and I like Bryan, but there is Vincent, he asked me too and Vincent is so sweet . I don't know who to pick I am stuck", she groaned in complaint .
Claire laughed at her dilemma," well I don't know how to help you, Choose one of the both. If you like Bryan and he is good pick him, if Vincent is so sweet that he is a better choice than Bryan pick him . Anyone is your choice".
"Come on! Claire"
"What do you want me to say" , Claire asked amused
They reached the classroom . When they entered the class Mariah and her girls blocked the way .
"Hey weirdo , I heard your wings are growing out of hand and I would so love to chop them off for you if you can't contain it" , Mariah taunted.
" What do you want Mariah ", Claire just sighed she knew something like this was going to happen the girl just never rests . Right from the moment Alexander started speaking to her Mariah had never left a day without glaring at her .
" We want you to stay away from Alex. Only a girl like Mariah is worthy of a guy like Alex" , Sarah one of mariah's girls said eyeing Claire as she said so .
" Who are you to tell me what to do and what not to huh", Claire challenged already tired of their constant trouble .
The three of them gasped including Cleo who is already tapping Claire a little to tone down her anger ,that its Mariah the daughter of their schools biggest sponsor and she could get her expelled or removed from the scholarship.
" How dare you talk back at me ", Mariah said her eyes wide open in disbelief.
"Look Mariah I don't know what you tend to gain by bullying me all day ,but whatever it is can't help your life . You spend your brain and time thinking of how to bully a girl that is way intelligent than you and is obviously more beautiful than you that its making you feel so insecure that you had no choice but to take out your insecurities on her by verbally abusing her, but for your information, that does nothing but keeps making an experience for her", Claire said in one breath as if she had been waiting for that moment .
