Adam was a man of many names and even more secrets.
He had worn many faces, walked different paths, and carried burdens few could understand. Lies and half-truths had often been necessary for survival.
But he understood something important.
If everything remained locked inside — every deception, every burden, every doubt — it would slowly corrode him from within. Isolation did not make one stronger. It made one brittle.
That was why he chose to share the truth with at least one person he trusted.
Not because he had to.
But because he knew that keeping it all bottled up would, sooner or later, cost him something far greater than any secret was worth.
Doing so anchored him.
After wearing so many faces in Europa, there had been moments when even he had forgotten who he truly was. The lines between role and self began to blur.
