Hours pass by, the scenery passing slowly. Eventually May tires of playing with her dolls and clambers under her blankets, curling up on the floor of the wagon to nap. With the gentle swaying of the wagon, she's out like a light.
While she sleeps, Roland halts the wagon. He moves toward the back and steps inside, meeting Celeste's gaze as he passes her. "Time to switch drivers. Can't afford to drive this thing nonstop."
The younger wizardess closes the book in her lap and nods quietly, rising from her seat.
Lucas grumbles beside me as he looks up at the older man. "What? Already? It's only been a few hours."
Roland grunts. "If you've got a problem with Celeste driving, you can do it yourself."
Lucas purses his lips. "...I'm fine. I just didn't expect you to need to sleep so early."
Another grunt. "Ain't gotta get permission to be tired."
